I am a politically- and socially-aware scientist who worries about the ability of democracies to make important decisions when their citizens are poorly informed, and have poor analytical thinking skills. I'm known for explaining complex problems in understandable terms, and for my ability as chairman to reconcile opposed public political positions by country government delegations.
