INTRODUCTION
 Fashion jewellery with embedded intelligence is
known as “DIGITAL JEWELLERY”.
 We can communicate with others by using wireless
appliances.
 Helps us solve problems like security badges,
forgotten passwords etc.

ORIGIN
 IBM has developed a prototype of a cell
phone that consists of several pieces of
digital jewellery.
 These work together wirelessly possibly
with bluetooth technology.
 Perform functions of mobile components.

Construction and working
Components:
Microphone
Receiver
Touch pad
Display
Circuit Board
Antenna
Battery

Microphone:
It is a wireless device which
directs the sound to an
amplifying device.
Receiver:
It is a consumer electronic
unit which can receive
input signals.

Touch pad:
It is a pointing device featuring a
tactile sensor, a specialized surface
that can translate the motion.
Circuit Board :
It electrically connects all
the components using
conductive tracks.

Antenna:
It is a specialized transducer
which converts radio frequency
fields into alternating current.
Battery:
It provides power
to electrical devices.

APPLICATIONS
EAR RINGS:
 Speakers are embedded
into these ear rings.
 Bluetooth devices are
made in the form of ear
rings.
 People can wear these
which help to enhance
technology.

NECKLACE:
 Microphone is
embedded through
which users can talk.
 Transfer the
information in the form
of signals.
 Consists of sensors.
 Bluetooth technology.

JAVA RING:
 Java based
computerized ring.
 Stainless steel
finger ring.
 Contains ibutton.
 Snapped into a
reader called blue
dot receptor.

BRACELET:
 Bluetooth bracelet built in
rechargeable battery.
 When a call is coming the
bracelet will vibrate and lamp
will flash.
 Equipped with VGA display.

SMART WATCH:
 Power of a computer on
our wrist.
 Has a wide screen play
display to watch video.
 Voice recognition
technology is embedded.

INTELLIGENT SPECTACLES:
 Helps to surf the web or check
our e-mails etc.
 Can be accessed anywhere and at
anytime.
 Eye serves as a mouse.

ADVANTAGES
 It provides security
 Portable
 High memory
 High durability

LIMITATIONS
 Display is very small
 Rays may be harmful
 Non rechargeable battery
 Expensive

CONCLUSION
• It bridges the gap between physical and digital
worlds and in near future technology will
become a part of our body!!!
• This technology has rapidly becoming omni-
present and creating a milestone
in the history of technological world.
