This document discusses using loss sensitivity factor analysis to identify the optimal placement of distributed generation (DG) units in the 73-bus, 33kV Port Harcourt power distribution system in Nigeria. Simulations were conducted using ETAP software to determine that 35 load buses were outside acceptable voltage limits. DG units of 25MW were placed at optimally identified buses using sensitivity analysis. Load flow analysis after DG placement showed improved voltage profile and loss reduction.
