The Challenge – A work in Progress 
• A need for being able to call PowerShell functions easily 
• Lack of Orchestrator or a wish to avoid it for ease of management
Solution 
• Create an Activity that calls a PowerShell dynamically 
• May be embedded into Activities as a “PowerShell Activity” like a 
RunBook activity
How 
• Create a new Activity Class “PowerShell Activity” as a Derived Activity 
from the Activity class 
• Extended fields to both name the script and hold variables (SR answers) 
• Create Workflow Activity to trigger when it goes to In Progress 
• PS Script call to get values and call the script to run 
• Develop the scripts to call 
• Embed the PowerShell Activity into the Activities of a Service Request 
or Otherwise

  • #20: This is an opportunity for group members to stand up and share some information with the rest of the group. We haven’t had any volunteers for this session, so in the future I would encourage people to volunteer for this spot. It will add a lit of value to everyone attending. There are however two clients that I will ask to give an impromptu talk on their recent experience with Service Manager. Throw to Robert Cooper at GBST. Then throw to Robert Wilkins at Parramatta City Council.
  • #21: This section is designed as an open mic session where anyone can ask questions or make comments for the group as a whole to respond to. To manage this discussion can I ask anyone wishing to take the mike to send an IM and then I will handover to each person. Remember to take yourself off mute when speaking and place yourself back on mute once finished so we can keep background noise to a minimum. Ok so who wants to go first?
