This study investigated the relationship between breastfeeding and adult body fatness, considering early nutritional intake among a cohort of 73 healthy individuals born in 1984. The results indicated that while breastfeeding alone was not linked to body fat measurements at age 20, it showed a protective effect on subscapular skinfold thickness when adjusted for early nutritional intake. The findings suggest that early nutrition should be considered when assessing the long-term health impacts of breastfeeding.
