Emerging
Technologies
C
Final Exam
Facebook 
• Facebook is familiar to
me – I use it on a daily
basis
• Lots of users – more likely
to connect with people
you know
• Easy to maneuver
through the site
Blogger 
• I liked the freedom of Blogger
– you can design your blog
and customize the layout to
make it look how you want it
to.
• Also very easy to maneuver
through the site.
• Liberating to get your words
out and “on paper.”
Twitter 
•Again, easy to use the
site
•Good way to keep
up with celebrities
•You can turn anything
into a hashtag
Flickr 
• I like the create feature – I’m
making my mom a brag
book for Christmas using Flickr
• Minimal amount of words
have to be used – let the
photos speak for themselves
– no statuses to update
• The Geotagging feature is
pretty interesting
Newseum 
• This doesn’t interest me so
much, but my dad loves to
read the paper so he’ll enjoy
this when I share it with him.
• It’s nice that it is so expansive
– Access to so many different
places.
• Not difficult to get around
the site.
Google Docs 
• Too easy to have your
work altered.
• Not secure enough for
my peace of mind.
• Doesn’t have all the
“bells and whistles” that
Word has.
Wordle 
• I want to have more control
over the word placement –
any type A’s nightmare.
• Too much trouble – I don’t
like that you have to have
Java for it to work.
• I just don’t get the point of it
and dislike basically
everything about it.
Delicious 
• Too much tagging
involved
• The name of the site is
misleading – I thought I
was going to be looking
as mouth watering food
• Not as easy to navigate
as I’d like
WayBack Machine 
• Boring – the concept is more
interesting than the “product” –
has a special audience.
• Name is a little misleading - I
would think “WayBack” would
go farther back than it does.
• Homepage is bland and
uninviting – even the logo is
lackluster.
Twitter 
(I have a love hate/thing with Twitter so it made both lists)
• The Hashtags - I despise
hashtags with everything I
am!
• Too much drama and too
easy to get caught up in it!
• Too easy to update – users
abuse the privilege of free
speech.
