This document outlines a workshop on promoting growth mindsets in learners. It discusses Carol Dweck's theory of fixed and growth mindsets, and how tutors can use language to support growth mindsets. Specifically, tutors should express their belief in students' ability to improve, expect mistakes and failure as part of learning, and model growth mindset language such as focusing on effort and progress rather than innate ability. The workshop encourages tutors to reflect on how they can change their language to better support students developing a growth mindset orientation.
