This logo uses quite a simple
design in white using an animal
skull logo which is something that
I think I am going to use for my
logo as I think it will suit my
target audience and will be fitting
for the designs that I’m going to
create.
The logo also has a slightly
eroded, distorted look which is
something that I think I might
include in my logo however I
wouldn’t want it to look too
similar to the point where it
could look like copyright
infringement.
The design is also very
symmetrical which is another
aspect to the logo that I think I
will definitely be using for my
own logo so that I can put it into
the actual clothing pieces that
are oriented around the designs
and patterns that I am going to
create.
The colours used in this logo
including the background are
something that I think would
appeal to my target audience due
to the dark colour scheme with
the contrasting white to draw
attention to certain aspects of
the designs that I want to be the
focal point of the designs or
patterns.
The background ‘texture’ is
something that I would also want
to use in my designs in the
background to add a bit more of
an interesting feature to the
designs so that they are less 2D
and to create the possibility to
add more colour to the designs to
create contrast.
I will also want to use a similar
layout with the logo being very
central to the designs that I
create with a combination of logo
oriented pieces and design or
pattern oriented pieces.
Existing Product
This design from Devote uses a large
block of negative space which really
adds to the edgy vibe of the design
and helps to bring attention to the
patterns to either side of the negative
space.
The designs themselves use a lot of
dark colours which I think I will be
using a lot in my designs to create a
similar sense of ‘edge’ to them and
also so that I can add more features to
the designs whilst not making the
stand out too much as I don’t want
the designs to be too plain but also
don’t want them to be too
outstanding and flashy.
The graphic T-Shirt style and fit is
something that I also want to do for
my designs as I think it suits the style
of street wear that I want to create
very well.
The photo itself of the model wearing
the clothing is in a style that I am
going to use for the website and
advertising for my brand and al the
clothing pieces that I create.
I like that the background is in a
contrasting colour to the actual
clothing so that it stands out however
as a lot of my clothing will have white
aspects and features that would then
blend into the background so I will
probably use brighter colours or
images for the background that are
from different locations probably on
streets with colourful deigns
surrounding them to add to the street
wear style as well as to appeal to my
target audience as they are
predominantly teenagers and young
adults who in my opinion would find it
appealing.
Existing Product
This website design uses a lot of
bright colours to make the
photographs containing the
clothing pieces stand out against
the pure white background for to
the website which is a feature
that I think will be used for my
website design however My
background will probably be
darker with the brighter colours
standing out over the top of a
dark grey or black background.
The layout of having a recent or
most interesting product
advertised in the centre of the
front page with the categories
below it is something that I thin I
want to do for my website design
with a similar style of tiles
displaying the photos for the rest
of the categories and clothing
pieces so that you get a clear
view of what type of clothing
you’re going to be looking at in
each category.
For my website visual I will be
using a lot of similar tabs and
categories such as the shopping
bag, favourites and options tabs
as well as the different categories
which will include thing like
Men's, Women's,, Unisex, T-
Shirts, Pullovers, Jumpers,
Dresses, Bags and so on.
The font that I use would be of a
similar simple style as well I think
as the font for my actual brand
name is white a bold style of font
as well so it will match a lot more
than a thin font and I will
probably just use a simple white
font so that it contrasts and is
easily visible against he dark
background that I plan on using
for the website visual.
The font would be a lot closer
together however compared to
the letters being quite psaced out
for brand name on the website
visual.
Existing Product
This pre-1990’s fashion poster uses a lot of good
lighting to bring attention to the pattern on the
jacket that the model is wearing which is also
used to contrast to the bright t-shirt that she is
wearing underneath that adds a hint of bright
colour to the picture which is something that I
want to do with the photos that I am going to
create.
The use of the white background as well does a
good job of merging with the T-Shirt as they
both share the same white colour and they also
the white and black In the background really
helps to emphasise the multicoloured ‘ESPIRIT’
title to the poster, which is something that I will
utilise in my posters but they would be inverted
so that the bright colours are in the background
of the photo and my designs would be dark
over the top of the bright background.

Research Evaluation
Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the
strengths and weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
The product research really helped me to find design ideas and advertising
ideas for my products that I can take inspiration from for my own
creations.
– Questionnaires
The questionnaires really helped me to narrow down what the people in my
audience would like to see the most from my products as well as what my
audience consists of.
– Interviews
The interviews really helped to narrow down and get more personal detailed
opinions and views however made it quite difficult to interpret answers as
they could be vague if not guided in what to say.
Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
I got very helpful responses in telling me what type of designs I should use and
what to add to my website visual and such which I wouldn’t have known
previously how to cater to my specific target audience without the help from
the survey.
The responses helped me specifically with colour scheme, price and logo
decisions that I had to make for my designs because I wasn’t sure how much
certain people in my audience would spend or the type of products that I am
crating.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
I sent the survey out on Facebook to people which was very helpful as I could get
responses from people in different locations in the world as well as form a
variety of ages and genders.
