Welcome to the 2011 YouToo Social Media Conference!
Welcome to the fourth annual, award-winning YouToo Social Media Conference, presented by Time
Warner Cable. This year’s conference, co-hosted by Akron Area PRSA and Kent State PRSSA, is kicking it
up a notch with speakers providing hands-on how-to’s and real-world case studies. The conference sold
out for a second year in a row - thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to join us!

We are excited and honored to once again present nationally-renowned morning and luncheon keynote
speakers as well as prominent local experts. They have up-to-the-minute information about social media
tactics and strategy in today’s world and they are sure to get you thinking.

Our opening conference speaker, Vice President of Social Strategy for Radian6, Amber Naslund, will
discuss the changes organizations need to make to stay competitive in this new world. After lunch she will
be available to personally sign copies of her book.

Our lunch session is sure to get your blood pumping as prominent keynote speaker, Geoff Livingston,
founder of Zoetica, shares his expert tips for social media success as he looks at five key players --
LinkedIn, Dell, Care2, the Humane Society of the United States and Wiser Earth. We’ll look at how they
have maintained their presence and remained effective through the creative use of social media.

Our breakout session speakers are first class. These area professionals are the movers and shakers of our
local social scene. They will share real world case studies and hands-on examples of how to push content,
drive SEO, blog effectively and be social no matter what business you’re in.

Make yourself at home in Franklin Hall, home of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at
Kent State University. We hope you walk away with a deeper understanding of social media’s role in the
communications industry and will benefit from interactive sessions and networking opportunities.

It’s time to get social!

Sincerely,

PR, communication and journalism fields. Because of this, SEO often gets left out of social media and,
therefore the growing sector of content marketing, strategy and development. As content marketing
becomes a growing part of social media and PR, SEO becomes more important. This presentation will
solidify SEO’s importance to communication professionals as well as ways to integrate SEO into existing
processes.

Sustaining a Winning Conversation
FirstEnergy Auditorium, Rm. 340

The advent of social media over the past ten years is no longer new. Through the corporate adoption
phase, we've seen winners come and go, but few organizations have had staying power. Here's a look at
five players -- LinkedIn, Dell, Care2, the Humane Society of the United States and Wiser Earth -- that have
maintained their presence through blogging, crowdsourcing, social networks, apps, and now mobilization.
While completely different in scope and scale, all five have remarkable similarities in how they have stayed
relevant over the years. Whether it was continuing to adapt to the community’s changing technology
needs, a relentless focus on mission, or empowering access and information exchange through larger
networks, these social networks and communities have done what was necessary to survive and prosper.

Because B2B Marketers Can Be Social, Too
Rm. 340

Who says social media is only for consumers? Why should they have all the fun? Social media can play a
very important role in B2B communications, specifically in distributor and channel marketing. True success
comes when a company understands the opportunities social media offers and how social media fits into
the overall marketing program. Because, after all, at the end of the day, we’re all consumers.

This year’s conference, co-hosted by Akron Area PRSA and Kent State PRSSA, is kicking it up a notch with speakers providing hands-on how-to’s and real-world case studies. The conference sold out for a second year in a row - thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to join us! We are excited and honored to once again present nationally-renowned morning and luncheon keynote speakers as well as prominent local experts. They have up-to-the-minute information about social media tactics and strategy in today’s world and they are sure to get you thinking. Our opening conference speaker, Vice President of Social Strategy for Radian6, Amber Naslund, will discuss the changes organizations need to make to stay competitive in this new world. After lunch she will be available to personally sign copies of her book. Our lunch session is sure to get your blood pumping as prominent keynote speaker, Geoff Livingston, founder of Zoetica, shares his expert tips for social media success as he looks at five key players -- LinkedIn, Dell, Care2, the Humane Society of the United States and Wiser Earth. We’ll look at how they have maintained their presence and remained effective through the creative use of social media. Our breakout session speakers are first class. These area professionals are the movers and shakers of our local social scene. They will share real world case studies and hands-on examples of how to push content, drive SEO, blog effectively and be social no matter what business you’re in. Make yourself at home in Franklin Hall, home of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kent State University. SOCIAL MEDIA CONFERENCE Presented by: 10 – 11:15 a.m. Breakout Sessions Content Marketing for PR Pro’s Rm. 340 Relationships and communications remain the foundation of the PR industry, but they now are being fostered through social networks, websites and self-published content. In order to grow smarter and faster than the competition, organizations must continually publish highly relevant, multi-media content through blogs, podcasts, videos, optimized press releases, case studies, white papers, e-books and articles. Learn how content-driven PR campaigns can help: • Boost search engine rankings and drive website traffic • Position organizations as innovators and thought-leaders • Generate leads and build loyalty Presented by: Paul Roetzer, founder and president of PR 20/20 Sponsored by: and Ignoring SEO At Your Own Peril Rm. 312/314 Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is often misunderstood and misrepresented, especially by those in the PR, communication and journalism fields. Because of this, SEO often gets left out of social media and, therefore the growing sector of content marketing, strategy and development. • 10. SOCIAL MEDIA CONFERENCE Presented by: 11:15 a.m. – 12:35 p.m. Lunch and Keynote Sustaining a Winning Conversation FirstEnergy Auditorium, Rm. 340 The advent of social media over the past ten years is no longer new. Through the corporate adoption phase, we've seen winners come and go, but few organizations have had staying power. Here's a look at five players -- LinkedIn, Dell, Care2, the Humane Society of the United States and Wiser Earth -- that have maintained their presence through blogging, crowdsourcing, social networks, apps, and now mobilization. While completely different in scope and scale, all five have remarkable similarities in how they have stayed relevant over the years. Whether it was continuing to adapt to the community’s changing technology needs, a relentless focus on mission, or empowering access and information exchange through larger networks, these social networks and communities have done what was necessary to survive and prosper. Presented by: Geoff Livingston, Co-founder of Zoetica Sponsored by: 12:30 – 12:45 p.m. Dessert Reception and Book Signing Sponsored by: Friday, April 15, 2011 Hosted by Akron Area PRSA & Kent State PRSSA http://youtoosm.com/

True success comes when a company understands the opportunities social media offers and how social media fits into the overall marketing program.
