SCHEME OF TREATMENT
PRETREATMENT
Pretreatment is the process aimed at keeping the membranes free from any scale formation, deposition &
biogrowth which may foul the membranes and lead to reduction in flux over span of time and this is achieved
by series of units operation starting from Chlorination, Multigrade sand bed filter, Activated carbon filter,
Antiscalent treatment, and fine filtration.
While all these unit operation are briefly described in succeeding paragraphs, the objective is to bring
pretreated water to conditions where SDI & LSI of the water dose not pose any hazard to the membranes.
THE LIFE AND EFFICIENCY OF THE MEMBRANES ENTIRELY DEPENDS ON PRETREATMENT
SYSTEM. THEREFORE A GOOD AND EFFECTIVE PRETREATMENT SYSTEM IS AN ESSENTIAL PART
OF A PURIFICATION PACKAGE AND ENVISAGES PERFECT TREATMENT TO RID THE WATER FROM
UNDESIRABLE PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL AND MICROBIOLOGICAL IMPURITIES.
COMMON PRETREATMENT FOR R.O.
COARSE FILTRATION BY HIGH CAPACITY MULTIGRADE SAND FILTER
Raw water after oxidation is passed through FRP Multigrade sand bed pressure filter to remove suspended
impurities and precipitate of iron and manganese.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER
Water stream coming from coarse filter is passed through FRP Activated carbon filter which ensures odour,
colour free filtered water also free from residual chlorine.
To maintain desired level of minerals / TDS in final product, major part of pretreated water shall be
desalinated by R.O. with molecular rejection of dissolved solids. In molecular rejection, the hardness forming
ions (Ca & Mg) may get deposited over membrane surface as a scale. Thus to avoid scale formation, the
R.O. feed is softened by converting Ca, Mg to Na ions.
IRON REMOVAL FILTER (OPTIONAL)
Water stream coming from coarse filter is passed through iron removal filter which ensures iron
free filtered water also free from residual iron.

A food grade anti scalent dozing is done to soften the water
FINE FILTRATION BY MULTI MICRON CARTRIDGES FILTER
By above process of pretreatment, water becomes free from undissolved solids, iron, manganese and
organic matters & filtered water upto 20 microns by particle filtration.
Keeping in view of porosity below 0.0005 microns and other characteristics of R.O. membranes, the make
have specified that ideal SDI of R.O. feed water should be below 3 which is possible if water is properly
filtered by micron cartridges of rating below 5 microns. Therefore we provided multi micron cartridges in
stainless steel housing rating 5 microns to achieve ideal SDI level.
Since in blending stream purification (RO) everything has to be removed except minerals therefore the
membranes is selected of such porosity / molecular weight cut off that there should not be molecular
rejection of inorganic dissolved solids / minerals. As a result hardness do not precipitate over membranes
and there shall not be any requirement of water Softening plant and blending stream has to be fine filtered
before ultra filtration membranes feed.
MULTI STAGE STERLISATION
As described above, R.O. not only balance the level of minerals also sterilize the water then by rejecting
microbiological and other impurities. Even then for a high purity as well as long shelf life water should be
highly oxidized with various processes as under:
HIGH DEGREE OXIDATION WITH OZONE
To make perfect and absolute oxidation, Ozone is the latest technology which converts oxygen mole to
ozone by electronic device and when ozone (O3) is diffused in water, plenty of nascent oxygen (O) which not
only increase the dissolved oxygen to saturation level also the residual level 0.2 – 0.4 of ozone ensure a
perfect quality of long shelf life.
ULTRA VIOLET UNIT
The unit produce ultra violet radiation of specified wave length 254 Nm, which are radially passed through
the water columns. As a result water get sterilized at one more step to ensure water free from microbiological
impurities.

SCHEDULE OF EXCLUSIONS & TERMINATIONS
1. All civil works, such as plant building, shed, foundation of equipments, bolts, pipe
Supports, supporting structures, platforms and mass concreting.
2. Construction of drain sump and drain channels and any special lining.
3. Plant area, building illumination, ventilation and earthing.
4. Supply of power to motors and water.
5. Raw water storage tank Client scope.
6. All pipe work beyond our termination Points. Inclusive to be supplied by us.
7. Layout of the equipments, piping, cabling and erection has been considered as per our
standard layout design. All piping, cabling, erection etc. required, as per client's
specific requirement subsequent to order finalization shall be at extra cost.
8. Design codes standards, features, specifications and supply of all items, quantity,
make etc. shall be as per our standard or as per the scope & specifications finalized at
the time of order. Any changes in design codes, standards, features, specifications,
quantity, makes, addition of items other than specified in the order shall be extra cost
which shall be finalized before the same is supplied.
9. Transit insurance shall be our responsibility. Insurance has been arranged by us on
behalf of the client for their convenience.
10. All equipments, work and services not specifically mentioned as forming part of our
offer.
11. Erection, commissioning and handling over of the plant shall be considered to have
been completed as described below:
11.1 The plant shall be considered once the equipments, media, interconnecting piping,
Instruments and accessories essential to the plant operation are in place. Minor job
completions, not affecting commissioning, shall not be the reason to consider it not
completed.
11.2 The plant shall be considered as commissioned on attaining the required water
output and quality. Minor corrections, modifications like leakages, component
rectification etc. not affecting commissioning shall be completed later.
11.3 The plant shall be considered as handed over to client once the commissioning runs/
cycles have been completed as referred above.

WARRANTY:
The equipments supplied are Warranted or a period of one year from the date of readiness
of plant and machinery IN OUR FACTORY. The plant and Machinery,
Equipment Warrantee is valid against defective workmanship and/or poor performance of
the system only. Our liability is limited to repair or replace the parts only. Consumables
changes if required Subject to any wear & tear or shall be charged at actual.
Cancellation of P.O
In any case due to whatsoever reason the if the P.O is cancelled the advance paid will be
forfeited and no claims will be entertained..
STATUARY VARIATION:
Any change in Govt. duties, levies, taxes or policies having direct effect on our above
quoted prices will be at client's account.

    SCHEME OF TREATMENT PRETREATMENT Pretreatmentis the process aimed at keeping the membranes free from any scale formation, deposition & biogrowth which may foul the membranes and lead to reduction in flux over span of time and this is achieved by series of units operation starting from Chlorination, Multigrade sand bed filter, Activated carbon filter, Antiscalent treatment, and fine filtration. While all these unit operation are briefly described in succeeding paragraphs, the objective is to bring pretreated water to conditions where SDI & LSI of the water dose not pose any hazard to the membranes. THE LIFE AND EFFICIENCY OF THE MEMBRANES ENTIRELY DEPENDS ON PRETREATMENT SYSTEM. THEREFORE A GOOD AND EFFECTIVE PRETREATMENT SYSTEM IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF A PURIFICATION PACKAGE AND ENVISAGES PERFECT TREATMENT TO RID THE WATER FROM UNDESIRABLE PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL AND MICROBIOLOGICAL IMPURITIES. COMMON PRETREATMENT FOR R.O. COARSE FILTRATION BY HIGH CAPACITY MULTIGRADE SAND FILTER Raw water after oxidation is passed through FRP Multigrade sand bed pressure filter to remove suspended impurities and precipitate of iron and manganese. ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER Water stream coming from coarse filter is passed through FRP Activated carbon filter which ensures odour, colour free filtered water also free from residual chlorine. To maintain desired level of minerals / TDS in final product, major part of pretreated water shall be desalinated by R.O. with molecular rejection of dissolved solids. In molecular rejection, the hardness forming ions (Ca & Mg) may get deposited over membrane surface as a scale. Thus to avoid scale formation, the R.O. feed is softened by converting Ca, Mg to Na ions. IRON REMOVAL FILTER (OPTIONAL) Water stream coming from coarse filter is passed through iron removal filter which ensures iron free filtered water also free from residual iron. PRETREATMENT FOR REVERSE OSMOSIS STREAM Anti Scalent Dozing TO CONDITION R.O. FEED A food grade anti scalent dozing is done to soften the water FINE FILTRATION BY MULTI MICRON CARTRIDGES FILTER By above process of pretreatment, water becomes free from undissolved solids, iron, manganese and organic matters & filtered water upto 20 microns by particle filtration. Keeping in view of porosity below 0.0005 microns and other characteristics of R.O. membranes, the make have specified that ideal SDI of R.O. feed water should be below 3 which is possible if water is properly filtered by micron cartridges of rating below 5 microns. Therefore we provided multi micron cartridges in stainless steel housing rating 5 microns to achieve ideal SDI level. Since in blending stream purification (RO) everything has to be removed except minerals therefore the membranes is selected of such porosity / molecular weight cut off that there should not be molecular rejection of inorganic dissolved solids / minerals. As a result hardness do not precipitate over membranes

    and there shallnot be any requirement of water Softening plant and blending stream has to be fine filtered before ultra filtration membranes feed. MULTI STAGE STERLISATION As described above, R.O. not only balance the level of minerals also sterilize the water then by rejecting microbiological and other impurities. Even then for a high purity as well as long shelf life water should be highly oxidized with various processes as under: HIGH DEGREE OXIDATION WITH OZONE To make perfect and absolute oxidation, Ozone is the latest technology which converts oxygen mole to ozone by electronic device and when ozone (O3) is diffused in water, plenty of nascent oxygen (O) which not only increase the dissolved oxygen to saturation level also the residual level 0.2 – 0.4 of ozone ensure a perfect quality of long shelf life. ULTRA VIOLET UNIT The unit produce ultra violet radiation of specified wave length 254 Nm, which are radially passed through the water columns. As a result water get sterilized at one more step to ensure water free from microbiological impurities.

Any changes in design codes, standards, features, specifications, quantity, makes, addition of items other than specified in the order shall be extra cost which shall be finalized before the same is supplied. 9.
