This document presents a framework for the performance analysis of software architectural styles, emphasizing the importance of assessing non-functional properties early in software development. It proposes a modeling approach using Stochastic Process Algebra (SPA) in the form of PEPA for performance evaluation and describes how Graph Transformation Systems (GTS) can be adapted for this purpose. The analysis is illustrated through a case study, demonstrating the transformation of architectural models into performance models for analysis of critical metrics like response time and throughput.
