Acupressure-II
Description
 Acupressure uses pressure usually applied with
Thumb, Fingers, Elbow, Knee or Acupressure
Devices called “Jimi.”
 The blockage of energy along with these
meridians can cause physical discomfort, pain,
tension and stress.
 The stimulation of points removes blockage by
releasing muscle tension and allowing blood to
flow more freely.
 It can also free an emotional blockage by
releasing accumulated tension.
 The pressure may also release Lactic Acid that
accumulates in muscles during hard and strenuous
exercise.
 Light to medium pressure is applied to an acupressure
point.
 It is to be rotated in tight circle.
 In the beginning pressure is to be applied with fingers,
thumbs, hands, some times the elbow and knees can be
used for key pressure points.
 Since the reflex points are tender and sensitive when
pressed, it helps to determine the right location.
 If the response of pressure at reflex points is not felt it
indicates either the reflex point is not correct or the
pressure applied is not strong enough.
 The sensation felt during acupressure therapy should be
somewhere between “Pain & Pleasure”
Three Benefits of Acupressure
Acupressure works on three dimensions;
Diagnosis: Instant and proper diagnosis without a
medical check up.
Cure: Cure for all types of common to chronic ailments.
Prevention: It helps to prevent all types of ailments
including heart problems and paralysis.
Risk
There is no Risk at all.
Acupressure can be used
with any other therapy.
But it should not be replaced
in lieu of medical treatments.
A.B.C…..of Acupressure
A:Acupressure is a great Boon given to mankind by the
Creator/Nature.
B:Baby, just one month old can take treatment of
acupressure without any side effect.
C:Cancer can also be diagnosed, Cured & prevented.
D:Diagnosis made with acupressure is true and accurate.
E:Easy to learn and practice.
F:Freedom from fear about all types of common to
chronic and acute to minute ailments.
How to Make Diagnosis
 First & Foremost qualification of an
Acupressure practitioner is his/her own
fitness and health.
 Not only body but also mind.
 Should be cheerful and free from any
prejudices.
 The practitioner should be following the
same therapy for himself and family
members for which you practice/preach
others.
 Must understand the patient is a human
being and has visited you to get rid of
his/her health problems and clear
doubts about the disease.
First Clue to Diagnose
 A warm smile and welcome handshake is what a
patient expects.
 When you shake patient’s hand, you get a clue about
the problem;
 If the patient is younger than you – his/her palm should
be warmer than yours.
 However if the palm is cooler it
Indicates that the energy flow in
The patient’s body is less.
 If the patient is older than you
his palm be should be cooler, if
Is warmer it means there is excess
Heat in the body or the patient has
Fever.
Eyes:- If the eyes of the patient are whitish
and there is no Redness in the corners of the
eyes it denotes “Anemic Conditions” which
could be due worms.
 Press the middle of the outside part of nail of
small finger/toes.
 If the pain is observed on that point – it indicates
that there are worms in the intestine of the
patient.
Shining Radiating
Eyes
Shining and
Radiating Eyes
reveal the
vitality of the
body health &
happiness
Dark Circles & Swelling Below
Eyes
 It denotes kidney of
the patient are not
functioning properly.
• Press Point No 26 of
kidney in both the
palms
Observe Face
 Black pigmentation
mixing with the original
skin color of face – it
could be due to excess
heat in the body or
some skin problems or
even an indication of
HIV.
Face Observation- Male
 If the growth of the
beard has not been all
over the face.
 There are patches
where the beard has
not grown – indicates
sex problem in males
 It could be excessive
masturbation.
Face Observation-Female
 Hair growth
above the upper
lip or on the face
of a lady indicates
that the sex
glands are not
functioning
properly
Nails Observation
When you hold the hand of the
patient in your hand, observe
carefully the nails of the patient
and then you will be able to find
out the level of syndrome- virility
means the level of the immune
system of the individual.
Nails Observation
 If the half moons are milky
white and so prominent that
they looks as though they are
pasted on nails and sparkling
new light comes in the eyes,
reflecting virile, vibrant health.
 These youngsters looks
attractive and their manners
become pleasant.
 Immune system becomes
sound & strong enough to
prevent any disease.
 Its like a spring for the youth
Pale Nails
 Very pale nails can
sometimes be a sign of
serious illness, such as:
 Anemia
 Congestive heart
failure
 Liver disease
 Malnutrition
White Nails
 If the nails are mostly
white with darker
rims, this can indicate
liver problems, such as
hepatitis.
 In this image, you can
see the fingers are
also jaundiced,
another sign of liver
trouble.
Yellow Nails
 One of the most
common causes of
yellow nails is a fungal
infection.
 As the infection worsens,
the nail bed may retract,
and nails may thicken
and crumble.
 In rare cases, yellow
nails can indicate a more
serious condition such as
severe thyroid disease,
lung disease, diabetes
or psoriasis.
Bluish Nails
 Nails with a bluish tint
can mean the body
isn't getting enough
oxygen.
 This could indicate a
lung problem, such as
emphysema.
 Some heart problems
can be associated with
bluish nails.
Dark lines beneath the nail
 Dark lines beneath the
nail should be
investigated as soon
as possible.
 They are sometimes
caused by melanoma,
the most dangerous
type of skin cancer.
Solar Plexus
 Solar Plexus controls
“Äpan Vayu”
 It regulates the
movements of stool
and urine
 It also Controls the
organs below the
diaphragm.
Method-I
To confirm whether the Solar Plexus is in order or not
 In the morning, on an
empty stomach, lie down
on any hard surface on
your back.
 Press with finger or thumb
in the Navel area.
 If you feel a throbbing
sound just like thumping of
heart under the navel it
means solar plexus is at
perfectly at its right
position.
Method-II
To confirm whether the Solar Plexus is in order or not
 Lie down on your back,
arms straight by your
sides, keep legs straight
and toes upright.
 Both big toes should be
in one level with each
other.
 If they are not, it
indicates a disturbance
in the solar plexus
position.
Method-III
To confirm whether the Solar Plexus is in order or not
 Join the two hands
and match the lines 1-4
 These lines will match
with each other
automatically if the
solar plexus is in
order.
 Line No 4 will not
match if the solar
plexus has shifted
from its position
Method – I
Setting of Solar Lexus to its Position
 Correct the solar plexus by
pressing with one hand the
knee of the leg whose big toe
is lower and keep the middle
finger of the other hand in
between the two big toes and
holding them, pull up only the
big toe which lower.
 After 2-3 pulls check the level of
both big toes. If the level has
not come in line keep repeating
the process until the level
proper in line.
 Where there is a natural
difference in the feet of the
patient this method will not
work
Method – II
Setting of Solar Lexus to its Position
 Keep your right palm vertically on the
joint of elbow of the left hand and try
to touch the left shoulder with thumb
with a jerk.
 Repeat this five times.
 In the same way do with the right
hand.
 Join both palms to match the lines 1-4
to verify if the solar plexus check in
order or not.
 This method is an easiest way to
correct the solar plexus, so it is
advisable to do it every morning to
keep the solar plexus in order.
Method – III
Setting of Solar Lexus to its Position
 Put a small lamp/candle on
the navel, cover it with a
metal glass and press it for a
minute.
 The air inside will burn out
and a vacuum will be created.
 This vacuum will help to bring
the solar plexus in order.
 After 1-2 minutes lift the glass
from one side.
 Repeat this 3-4 times till the
throbbing is felt at the Centre.
Method – IV
Setting of Solar Lexus to its Position
 Use Cupping Therapy to adjust the
Solar Plexus at the right place.
 Place the cup exactly in the Centre
of navel and create suction slowly
with the help of the pump.
 When the cup sticks to the body.
Allow it to remain until it gets
removed by itself.
 This suction created pulls the navel
to its original location.
 Try a couple of times and then test.
Method – V
Setting of Solar Lexus to its Position
Apply pressure on these
points:-
 The pituitary gland is the primary
endocrine gland and controls
almost every other gland in our
body.
 Working on this gland encourages
chemical and hormonal balance
throughout the body.
 Adrenal glands Due to our modern
lifestyles and high stress levels, we
put immense pressure on our
adrenal glands, which can lead to
adrenal fatigue
 Solar Plexus It helps to relieve
nervous tension and encourage
deep relaxation.
 After correcting Solar Plexus drink hot water, Green
Tea or Ginger Tea.
 In case of chronic problem like diarrhea, vomiting,
stomach upset the solar plexus may shift from up or
down and it will be necessary to correct it at least 2-3
times a day.
 Even a minor difference in the level of big toe
indicates that the solar plexus in not in order.
 It may be noted that upward shifting of solar plexus
is not in order.
 It may be noted that upward shifting of solar plexus
leads to constipation.
 If it becomes chronic this can leads to piles and even
colon cancer.
 The muscle above the navel becomes stiff and
problem is many times termed as Hiatus Hernia.
 Similarly when the solar plexus has shifted
downwards it leads to loose motion.
 This often is wrongly diagnosed as diarrhea and the
prescribed treatment ends up by damaging the whole
digestive system.
 The drugs taken to control such diarrhea can leads to
acidity and ulcer,
 Long term diarrhea leads to colic pain, anemia and
serious constituencies like cancer.
 In case of children too, the correction of solar plexus
is very important.
 If the mother has gastric trouble the breast fed baby
also gets solar plexus problem which leads either to
constipation or loose motion.
What Should Be Done in Case of Frequent
Shifting of Solar Plexus
 Due to frequent gas trouble, weakness of
intestine.
 Lifting of heavy articles sometimes leads to
shifting of solar plexus.
 Incase of such frequent shifting of solar plexus
the following procedures should be followed;
 For complete cure, patient should have a diet of
green juice, fruit juices and light foods and also
do some exercise and yoga to strengthen the
muscles of digestive system.
Frequent Solar Plexus Shift Correction
 Once the solar plexus is
corrected;
 Take a little string (thicker
than a sewing thread, tie
eight to nine rounds of this
thread around the base of
the big toes.
 Knot should not be very tight.
 Ask the patient to keep it on
for a minimum of three days.
 During this period, this thread
can be removed only if there
is unbearable pain in the big
toe.
