Adele 21 Album Advert
Using the same colour scheme as the album creates
synergy between the poster and the album, this will help
the audience to identify the album it is advertising.
Adele, is the main focus of the image on the poster, by
using a close up it attracts fans of hers to the poster. The
picture of Adele uses the same as the one used in the
album, the same make up and clothing is used; the only
difference is the hair and the pose, this is done to
represent Adele’s versatility because this album shows
more of Adele’s musical range; including pop type songs
and ballads.
The poster uses the fonts as the album to again create
synergy making it easier for the audience to find the album
if the poster reminds the audience more of what the
album is like meaning it is more likely to keep in their
memory increasing the chance of them buying it.
The poster effectively uses a strap under the header to
emphasise the talent of Adele. In the strap it takes about
her awards but it emphasises sophisticatedly how Adele
has not just won one Grammy Award but two, highlighting
how talented she is. In addition the strap highlights one of
the featuring songs ‘ showing it must be a huge and
popular single. Together this will attract fans for a number
of reasons because some will buy the album because of
Adele, because she is a Grammy Award winner and they
like to listen to recognised talent and then some will buy
the album because it has the song ‘Rolling in the Deep’.
The plug is in block capitals and a bright green to contrast the dark
background and stand out gaining the audience’s attention this is
important because the plug is used to give the audience information on
where to buy the album. The plug is placed above the insert of the
album to draw attention to the album; this is further done by outlining
the album in the same green as the plug and ‘21’ of the actual album,
this creates synergy throughout helping the audience recognise the
album.
The wording of the plug “available everywhere now” cleverly addresses
the phenomena of Adele’s album because it emphasises how it
everywhere because it is so popular everyone will want to buy it also
the use of “Now” shows how this is a current and popular album but
gives a sense of urgency to buying the album making the album appear
like it will sell out, this will encourage the audience to buy it
immediately if they think it will sell out.
There is an insert of the actual album cover to help the audience
recognise the album and aid them in the purchase.
The poster is well designed, with an equal design balance because
Adele shows half her face on the poster which takes up half of the
poster as well. This balance makes the poster aesthetically pleasing.
The poster is cleverly designed only using half her face because it is
only showing a sneak peek of her album however the album then uses
a close up of her whole face because the album is all about her and she
is the main focus.
At the bottom of the poster there is the record label logo this is done to
advertise the record label showing that the record label must be good
because Adele has signed to it. Also record labels tend to specialise in
genres so fans of that record label may buy the album out of interest.
