Written Communication Learn how to avoid making common grammar and punctuation mistakes, and how to write in a logical, credible and consistent voice. Presentation This is a great opportunity to learn what makes a great presentation and how to strengthen public speaking skills. During this class, each participant will give a presentation while being recorded. The instructor will use the recording to offer constructive feedback and advice. Conflict Resolution Learn the most effective methods to resolving conflict in a healthy way and how to quickly deescalate a conflict as it arises. Team Leadership Discuss the main obstacles teams typically face in the workplace and learn solutions on how these obstacles can be avoided and overcome. This session will also discuss team formation, stages of team development and different types of teams. Time Management Learn techniques you can immediately use to increase productivity in the workplace. Discussion topics include how to reduce stress and control the environment resulting in projects being completed on time and on budget.

Performance Management and Goal Setting Boost your confidence in performance management by learning how to write and give effective performance reviews. Disabilities and Leave Management Learn how to appropriately and legally address disabilities in the workplace through review and discussion of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Managing Employee Performance Learn how to respond to issues as they arise and how to resolve them before they get too serious. Strategies will be discussed for an employee’s performance that does not improve, and how to develop performance improvement plans. Strengths-Based Leadership Analyze new research on how to manage employees to their strengths versus their weaknesses, resulting in increased employee engagement, productivity and satisfaction. Management Law Become familiar with existing and new legal changes related to management. Discuss issues such as wage and hour law, discrimination, workplace violence, sexual harassment and retaliation.
