Welcome to a new era of automation. Today, we'll explore how UiPath Agentic Automation leverages
intelligent decision-making, transforming the way businesses operate and adapt.
Imagine your business processes as a human body. The brain acts as the central agent, coordinating
various "tools" (body parts) to achieve complex goals.
Agentic Automation Explained Through the Human Body Analogy
The brain (Agent) doesn’t do the work directly — it uses tools (body parts) to perceive, decide, and act toward
achieving a goal.
Mind (Brain) Agent — Thinks, plans, and decides actions based on context and goals
Eyes Tool — Perceives input like reading or recognizing data
Hands Tool — Takes action like clicking or typing
Legs Tool — Navigates through apps or web pages
Ears Tool — Receives auditory input (like voice commands)

“Imagine you’re trying to reach a destination. You start with a car because there’s a road. But then you hit a river. A
traditional bot would stop — it wasn’t built for rivers. But as an agent, you adapt: you switch to a boat, paddle across, and
then maybe walk the rest of the way.
That’s the essence of agentic automation — you’re goal-driven, aware of the environment, and flexible with tools —
choosing what’s best in the moment to reach your goal.”
Agentic Concept Real-World Analogy
Agent (You)
You know where you're going, and how to decide when and how
to switch tools
Tools Car, boat, bicycle, walking — tools you use to move forward
Context Awareness
You know roads vs rivers, traffic, weather, etc. — and adjust
accordingly
Tool Selection &
Planning
You can switch from car to boat when the road ends and a river
begins
Escalation
If unsure how to proceed (e.g., storm at river), you ask for
directions/help
Scenario:
You want to reach a destination (goal), and you’re the one in control (the agent). You use different tools (vehicles) based on
the situation or terrain, and when needed, you stop and decide on the best alternative.

UiPath Agentic Automation – Understanding the license models
Understanding Platform Units (Unified Pricing Model)
Understanding Agent Units (Flex Licensing Model)
Correlation with LLM Calls
Token-Based Charging Mechanism
Optimizing Automation Costs
Platform Units are metrics used in Unified Pricing to measure agent-specific activities.
They track usage during both design and run time phases.
Agent Units are applied under Flex Licensing to monitor agent activity consumption.
Both Platform and Agent Units are directly tied to number of LLM calls made. 1 Agent run typically consumes 5 LLM calls.
This correlation helps in understanding agent execution metrics.
Charges are calculated in increment of 64k input tokens per LLM call.
Larger calls may incur multiple charges based on token usage. For example, a 100k input token call incurs two LLM call
charges
Understanding Platform and Agent Units is crucial for cost monitoring.
This knowledge aids in optimizing expenses related to automation.
