In July 2012, India had 679.05 million total GSM subscribers, an increase of 1.7 million from the previous month. Airtel added the most subscribers in July at 1.5 million, primarily in the state of Karnataka. Airtel also had the most total GSM subscribers of any operator at 188.81 million. The state of Uttar Pradesh East had the most total subscribers of any state at 58.96 million. The circle of A saw the fastest subscriber growth of any circle at 0.27%.
