This document discusses continuously operating reference stations (CORS) in Nigeria and assesses the existing CORS network. It finds that Nigeria has established 11 CORS stations since 2008 as part of its national geocentric datum, but the spatial coverage of these stations is inadequate based on international standards. Specifically, the existing CORS stations only cover about 25% of Nigeria's territory. The study proposes additional CORS stations to improve coverage to about 96% in line with standards from the International Terrestrial Reference Frame. It concludes that expanding the density of CORS stations would extend their spatial coverage and help modernize Nigeria's geodetic network.
