This document discusses a proposed data mining model for analyzing data from tertiary institutions in order to successfully implement a data warehouse. It begins by introducing data mining and knowledge discovery in databases. Then, it describes using object oriented analysis and design methodology to analyze the current system at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University in Nigeria and identify problems. This includes examining the admissions process and how exam records are collected. The goals of the proposed model are then stated as finding relationships between admission results and procedures/lecturers, and allowing predictions with little user intervention.
