- 1. Profª Iris Gonçalves The way I learned Each person has a way to learn. The way I learned English was effective not just because the school methodology and the teacher’s knowledge, but also the way I got engaged in the learning process. So I can say the way I learned was effective.
- 2. Why I became a Teacher I became a teacher when I was 11 years old, the age when I decided that I wanted to be a teacher, not exactly an English teacher, but a teacher of something. I didn’t have enough knowledge about the different subjects I was learning in the 5th grade and I couldn’t decide what subject I enjoyed most.
- 3. Later, I became a Physical Education Teacher. I loved sports and I didn’t like English. I started enjoying English after starting studying it seriously in an English school because I wanted to travel abroad. And time did the rest.
- 4. What I teach best After some years of experience, I believe reading is what I teach better because, in the end, it’s the ability the students have a better development.
- 5. The way I teach is enjoyed by some students, but we can’t please everybody. Each one has a way to learn and I know I don’t reach all the ways. It’s also difficult to do according to the amount of students we have in class and the number of classes per week.
- 6. How I teach I try to teach the four abilities in my classes, but it’s not easy to achieve all of them properly. Basically, I use the book, the audio cd, the board and some games in my classes.

How I can change To make my classes more effective and more enjoyable, I can try to use the computer classes and the auditorium, using movies, songs, games and visual activities, even though they are not accessible all the time. I can also change the way they work in class, working in pairs and in groups more frequently, specially during the writing productions. It would help the students with difficulties in writing to improve their skills.
- 8. The course helped me to learn how to use some computer tools to make my classes more enjoyable and the learning process successful. I can teach the students how to use the computer programs and construct their own learning. The course helped me to review my way of teaching and, to think about it and how I can help students learn better and in an enjoyable way. Thank you very much for your help!
