This study investigates the impact of user fees on dropout rates from methadone maintenance therapy (MMT) in Vietnam, analyzing a cohort of 1,021 patients over one year. It found that user fees did not significantly increase dropout rates, with 85% of patients remaining active, though 29% faced catastrophic payments due to associated costs. The findings suggest that while user fees may not deter MMT participation, financial burdens remain a concern, necessitating further evaluation of such policies.
