THE BENT CHETLER FAMILY
How does a legend live on? One way: offspring. That’s why
the Bent Chetler family is getting bigger. With two new shapes,
skiers can ride Bent Chetler from grom to grown-up.
Meet the son – the Mini. The perfect size and shape ski for
young rippers with a taste for the fluffy stuff. A ski that makes
the mountain feel like a big, incredible playground.
The 100 – a do-anything, go-anywhere, one-ski-quiver, totally
prepped for taking it wherever you want to go. The everyday
ski that brings the whole mountain to life.
You know dad – the 120. The visionary ski that sparked it all. It
flies, it butters, it slashes and it carves new lines where none
were before. With the wisdom of a mountain veteran and the
speed and power of a well-oiled machine, the 120 brings float
and fun on the deepest days.
This is the family, and they call the mountains home.

TECHNOLOGY / HRZN TECH
HRZN Tech Tip & Tail takes an ABS sidewall construction and blends it with a
revolutionary across-the-ski, horizontal rocker. It adds 10% more surface area in tip
and tail for awesome floatation – plus less tip deflection and better tracking through
chop. The ultimate design for powder skiers.
FAQ
• How much lighter is the new Bent Chetler 120 and why?
More than 10%! Carbon reinforcements and a Caruba Woodcore build the centerpiece of the updated construction.
Thanks to this high tech choice of materials we can ensure a light weight without sacrificing any shock absorption or
stability. This makes it even more maneuverable, agile and playful to ski with.
• What’s the difference between the 120 and the 100?
The 120 is an ultimate powder ski that makes the deepest days even better. The 100 is the all-new go anywhere ski.
It’s meant for all conditions and terrain (on-, side- and off-piste) and is also a good choice for next generation park
skiers.
• Has the 120 shape changed?
No, because it’s well-proven and established.
FAQ
• Did the new HRZN Tech receive an update?
Yes! The new technology is thinner and lighter – by 20%. It cuts swing weight but also adds rigidity thanks to a new
strong material. For awesome floatation in powder plus less tip deflection and better tracking through chop.
• Can you grind the skis?
Bent Chetlers can be stone ground normally (unlike most powder skis with special tips). It means no complex tuning
process to get them ready to rip, or to repair them after a long season in uncharted terrain.
• Why is the sidewall now shorter?
The Full Sidewall under the binding, from base to topsheet, ensures controlled power transmission. Cutting it shorter in
length reduces swing weight in tip and tail. Means the sidewall is now applied exactly where it’s necessary.
FAQ
• What’s the ideal mounting position for the 120?
Our factory recommendation is in accordance with Chris Benchetler’s
personal preference, which is 3 cm backwards from the center. But of
course this is also about your personal preference: traditional would
be to go even bit more to the back and more progressive would be to
go slightly to the front, means to the center of the ski.
• What’s the ideal mounting position for the 100?
In general we suggest to use the marked recommended mounting line
for powder skiing. If you prefer a bit more of a traditional setup we
suggest to move to the back. Using the ski mainly in park we
recommend to move rather to the center of the ski, which is in front of
the factory recommendation line.

FAQ
• Which material do you use for the new HRZN Tech?
We use a TPU plastic, which is now even more resistant to high impact and cold and ensures frictionless gliding.
• How would you describe the shape of the 100?
The 100 has a more directional shape, means it has more rocker in the tip than in the tail. So more of the ski’s edge
remains in contact with the snow giving better grip and stability. But it still features a slight rise in the tail to allow switch
skiing, butters and confident landings. Overall the shape is pretty similar to the Backland FR 102.
• Would you combine the 120 or the 100 with the new Shift binding?
Yes definitely! Add our Hawx Ultra XTD and Rocker Multifit skins and you have the perfect setup for powder skiing and
freeride touring.
FAQ
• Bent Chetlers are used in all terrain and their possibilities are often maxed out by the best powder skiers in
the world. Are they also durable enough?
Yes they are and we also have even improved its durability in general with an integrated (but hidden) regular alpine ski
tail for even increased protection.
• The Bent Chetler Mini is now available in an additional length. Is this a different construction?
No this has the same construction as the existing Mini but adding the extra length / model we are now able to cater an
even wider target group. The Mini is the perfect size and shape ski for young rippers. A ski that makes the mountain
feel like a big, incredible playground.
FAQ
• Is Chris Benchetler involved in the development of the ski?
In the last years Chris has redefined what’s possible in the
backcountry with the help of his pro model. And he not only
contributes by giving his skis his own graphics and style but also
came up with the idea of HRZN Tech and this ultimate powder
design. Year by year he comes back to the Atomic R&D team and
together they further develop and fine-tune every little detail to
make the best powder ski even better.
