Role of Robotics in today's life
• ROBOTICS is a fast growing and interesting field.
• It is simplest way for latest technology modification.
• The ROBOT has sufficient intelligence to cover the maximum area to
provide space.
INTRODUCTION
• This particular robotics device is a combination of both mechanical and
electronics device.
• This system is made so that it can be used to detect and avoid obstacle
successfully.
• This robot will be just like a car that keeps moving in a particular area until
something comes in its path that’s when it decides to turn into some other
direction so it successfully avoids the obstacle.
In our project
• Use of robotics in everyday life.
• Autonomous mobile scrap box roams freely in
the surrounding area
• When someone comes near to it , it stops
automatically and opens its lid
• It helps in the keeping our area clean where
people need not to go near the scrap box , it
will come to them by itself.
Working of circuit diagram…
• The project proposes robotic vehicle that has a intelligent built in it such
that it guides itself whenever an obstacle comes ahead of it . it senses
human an cap of dustbin is automatically open.
• This robotic vehicle is built, using a microcontroller AVR Atmega8. Two pair
of IR sensor is used to detect any obstacle ahead of it and sends a
command to the microcontroller.
• Depending on the input signal received, the microcontroller redirects the
robot to move in an alternate direction by actuating the motors interfaced
to it through a moter driver IC.
Components…
• AVR Atmega8 microcontroller.
• L293D IC motor driver.
• 7805 IC voltage regulator
• Crystal
• Resistance
Battery
• An electrical battery is a
combination of one or more
electrochemical cells, used to
convert stored chemical energy
into electrical energy.
• The battery has become a
common power source for many
household, robotics and
industrial applications.
• Larger batteries provide standby
power for telephone exchanges
or computer data centers
IR LED
9
• Here the IR transmitter is like
a normal LED but transmits
the IR signals.
 These are infrared LEDs; the light output is not visible
by our eyes. They can be used as replacement LEDs for
remote controls, night vision for camcorders, invisible
beam sensors, etc.
Photodiode
• Here the photodiode is like a
normal LED but receives the IR
signals.
• A photodiode is a type of photo
detector capable of converting
light into either current or
voltage, depending upon the
mode of operation.
MOTOR driver L293D
11
• L293D is a dual H-bridge motor
driver integrated circuit (IC).
• Motor drivers act as current
amplifiers since they take a low-
current control signal and provide
a higher-current signal.
• This higher current signal is used
to drive the motors.
 L293D contains two inbuilt H-bridge driver circuits. In its
common mode of operation, two DC motors can be driven
simultaneously, both in forward and reverse direction.

THINGS WE LEARNED
• Working express PCB software was a new
experience.
• Working on the AVR Studio was also a new
experience and learned how to make the
circuit and codes.
• Overcoming the challenges during coding part.
• Learned about the certain new components.
BENIFITS
• It reduces the human efforts.
• It helps in keeping the environment clean.
• It can also work as the service robot in
working stations as per the requirement.
CONCLUSION
• Automation is the field where everything goes
automatic without human involvement.
• The idea of keeping the environment clean is
applied to this project.
• We have learned new things while preparing
this project in the field of automation world.
