Azim Premji is an Indian businessman who is currently the chairman of Wipro Ltd. He was born in 1945 in Mumbai to a Gujarati Muslim family. In 1966, he had to drop out of Stanford University to take over his father's vegetable oil business, which he transformed into a global IT company called Wipro. He owns 74% of Wipro and is currently the 3rd richest man in India. Premji is known for his philanthropic efforts through organizations like the Azim Premji Foundation, which focuses on enhancing rural education in India.
