  The Battle of Tannenberg • The Battle of Tannenberg was between the Russian Empire and the German Empire. It took place in the region of the Masurian Lakes in East Prussia. It started on August 27 and ended August 31 in 1914.

  Gallipoli Campaign • TheGallipoli Campaign took place at the peninsula of Gallipoli in the Ottoman Empire. The British and the French operation was made to capture the Ottoman capital of Constantinople.

  The Christmas Truce •The Christmas Truce was a widespread of ceasefires that took place along the Western front around Christmas 1914, during First World War. Through the week leading up to Christmas, armies of German and British soldiers began to exchange seasonal greetings and songs between their trenches.

  The Christmas Truce Cont. • On occasion the tension was reduced to the point where they would walk across the battle field and talk to one another. The truce is sen as a symbolic moment of peace and humanity during one of the most violent times during modern times.
