Blog post for dog and bone
I am a media studentat York College and I wanted to create a project with a
client to be able to receive feedback as well as getting to know the real
industry that I was getting into. I chose Dog & Bone Vintage becauseit was a
shop I’veloved for a couple of years now and somewherethat I think deserves
more publicity. I did this look book to create an outlook on the shop and what
kind of clothes and outfits you can put together within
the shop and how unique the pieces are. I shotthe
photos within the shop to incorporateits aesthetic
because I think it has such a unique feel to it which I
really wanted to photograph. I wanted to create looks
that I would wear but also take things out of my
comfortzone and look at outfits that maybearen’t
things I’d traditionally pick out. I also got some help
frommy models and they helped me put together
outfits and putting them in something that they like
and also something I like which are very different. I really wanted to include
different types of outfits so that there was something for everyone. I wanted
there to be pieces for different people becauseI thought it would work well
and give the look book a wider audience. The whole
process of creating the look book was very
enjoyableand I loved the entire experience. Itwas
so fun to put together and the entire Dog & Bone
team wereamazing and helped me so much. I loved
the entire experience and I was so thankfulto them
letting me do this with them. EveryoneI got
involved in this projectis so passionateabout
vintage clothing and we all love the whole look. In
my opinion somevintage clothing is a lot nicer than newer clothing. It also
saves a lot of wasteand saves these clothes being thrown out. Vintage clothes
have a lot of benefits as well as the clothes being really unique and different to
everything that people are releasing nowadays. In addition, in shops like Dog &
Bone there is something for everyone and no matter whatyou can always find
something you will love. Both my models did at the time of the shoots and
have both said they will be going back.
