Editor's Notes

  • #2: This is a BEGINNERS topic, what I’m showing may not be the best way, but it’s simplest for newbies. Can we save questions and comments until the end?
  • #3: Wikipedia - A blog is a discussion or information site published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order so the most recent post appears first. Until 2009 blogs were usually the work of a single individual, occasionally of a small group, and often were themed on a single subject.More recently "multi-author blogs" (MABs) have developed, with posts written by large numbers of authors and professionally edited. MABs from newspapers, other media outlets, universities, think tanks, interest groups and similar institutions account for an increasing proportion of blog traffic. The rise of Twitter and other "microblogging" systems helps integrate MABs and single-author blogs into societal newstreams. Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
  • #4: Though this would be a very short talk if we left it there…
  • #5: Show rest of imagehttp://www.jeffbullas.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Infographic-Blogging.png
  • #6: Yes it does, it’s better suited for multi user blogs and bundles a bunch of features together that exist on all content types. It’s also most suited to multi user blogs, which we wont really cover now.
  • #9: Panels and Display Suite are more complex, as is Views but can give you amazing flexibiilty on how to lay out content, largely visually and drag and drop.Drupal themes have got better, but any customisation will invlolve coding, take a look at the guide, it’s not as hard as it looks.
