Working as the sole engineer/estimator until 2014 when I hired a site engineer, the role involved me working from my Qld office with regular site visits as far away as Adelaide and western NSW. BRENT MASKELL resume • [email protected] Page 4 Company: John Holland (Sep 2009 – 2010) Position: Site Project Engineer Project: 2AFDS Amberley RAAF BASE – (Construct Only) 6x new building, 1x fitout ($40 million) Role: Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer (acting PM) the position was as the sole site engineer in charge of all engineering matters for subcontractors including civil earthworks and pavements, structural, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, security, fitout and finishes. The project team consisted of a senior project engineer, 3 supervisors, contract administrator, assistant contract administrator and a site project engineer. The role of site project engineer was to ensure quality compliance for the project. This was achieved through carrying out daily inspections on works and organizing relevant authorities to carry out their inspections including the designers, architects, local council, defence staff and head contractor; raising design RFI’s and ensuring the correct information is disseminated amongst the subcontractors; attending subcontractor/design/defence-client meetings. In order to achieve a successful outcome the role also included updating the construction program in consultation with site supervisors using Primavera P6 for reporting to head management and actively participating in onsite safety. Company: Byrne Bros (major leading formwork company in UK) (March 2008 – May 2009) Position: QA Manager - Contract Project: New Change Project, St Pauls, CBD London (+£25 million concrete package), Role: The project consisted of a 12 storey shopping/office block in the heart of London’s CBD adjacent St Pauls Cathedral. During the early stages of the project I carried out the role of rebar engineer which included scheduling for specific delivery times the reinforcement for 4x slipformed cores as well as carrying out inspections on the slipform. As the project progressed I took up the role of QA manager overseeing all structural inspections and supervising a quality engineer and rebar engineer. Daily tasks include raising NCR’s, CVI’s, RFI’s, liaising with structural eng/architects on changes, inspection of formwork systems, handover documents for the O&M manual, providing company QS with updates/information on any potential contract variations, writing of method statements (SWMS) and carrying out document control with comprehensive use of BIW system. Company: Lancsville Construction (mid-tier formwork company) (March 2007 – March 2008) Position: Project Engineer - Contract Project: GWQ, Brentford, London (+£10 million concrete package) Role: A major redevelopment of land in west London the project involved construction of a 2 level carpark/foundation for 5x residential towers. Reporting to PM the role involved raising of design RFI’s, temp works coordination, organization of reinforcement for delivery, cast iron and PVC drainage call offs, supervision of 4x setting out engineers; managing QA including control of ITP’s and conducting structural inspections of concrete works pre/post pour, attending progress meetings. Project: Bridge Academy, Hackney (Lancsville) (approx. £5m) Role: Managing OH&S including writing method statements/risk assessments, carrying out tool box talks, weekly safety inspections; Managing QA by conducting structural inspections on concrete pre/post pour. Supervising setting out engineers and raising design RFI’s; Procurement of drainage materials for foundation works; attending daily supervisors meetings. Document control of all site based information both in hard copy and through the Aconex management system. Raising of design RFI’s; Supervision of setting out engineers. Company: Laing O'Rourke (Feb 2005 - May 2005) Position: Section Engineer - Contract Project: Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, Satellite Buildings, London, England Role: Supervision of painting and fire protection subcontractors involving programing of their works and monitoring their works for progress and quality on a daily basis. Company: CA Blackwells (major UK civil construction company) (Sept 2004 - Nov 2004) Position: Quality Assurance Engineer - Contract Project: Stratford International Terminal, London, England. Role: As part of the 2012 Olympic Games infrastructure the project involved the construction of the main platforms at the terminal. Duties included carrying out all structural inspections pre/post concrete pour, supervision of site engineers, document control of site office drawings and raising design RFI’s. On several occasions I took on the concrete foreman duties. Company: Turner & Townsend (major quantity surveying company) (December 2003 - June 2004) Position: Site Auditor - Contract Project: Office - Bristol, Field – South West England & Wales Role: Employed in an autonomous role to carry out site audits for major telecoms upgrade of the emergency services antenna network known as the O2 Airwave project. Inspections of onsite facilities both green field and refurbishment across the southwest of England and Wales with the aim to audit the work carried out against the claimed amount by electrical subcontractors. The role evolved to compass attending site evaluation meetings for construction proposals. Due to the remote locations of many antennas I acted as a community relations representative for the project with many town residents against the construction due to health concerns. With reporting of findings to the account manager the role was based approx. 4 days in the field/1 office.
