Get inspired! Get creative!
Students and teachers viewed Caine’s

As a school, we decided to participate in
the Cardboard Challenge with 76,000+
participants in 43 different countries.
Hale Kula Elementary School – 900 students,
50 teachers, and lots of volunteers = a
wonderful day of problem-solving, creating,
and sharing how we used our imagination to
transform cardboard!
Thinking,
planning,
creating
together!
Playing!
Measuring, collaborating, giving
feedback to classmates
Proudly
sharing!
Piles of boxes and
stacks of plywood
become a maze.
Sharing with other classes
Students waited patiently to go through the maze!
A big mahalo to everyone who
participated or helped out at
our first Hale Kula Cardboard
Challenge!
A special thank you to Mrs.
Colte and Mrs. Petry for
organizing this event,
and thanks especially to Caine
who is the inspiration for the
challenge and to Nirvan for
telling Caine’s story!
