INTRODUCTION TO CDP
Community development project is an initiative to help all the students to
get an out look of the surroudings and look what is happening around
them. It also focuses on changing the mindsets of the people and also to
eradicate the problems around our locality by using their brain and moral
ethics. It gives a great sense of responsibility to serve the nation and help
the beings come out from problem, save lives and to provide them a good
life , also so that it becomes a benchmark for the society to look upon.
WHAT IS AN NGO?
■ Non – Government organisation abbreviated commonly NGO are

humanitarian issues.

NGO CERTIFICATE:
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
The problem identified in the cause of old people in their life is not caring or showing
enough support or care to them, are kept far away from people and things, and
discrimination is faced by senior citizens for their age and behaviours in India. Rapid
urbanization, changing family structures, and societal attitudes towards old age people
is contribution to this issue. Many seniors suffer from loneliness, lack of access to
healthcare, financial insecurity, and limited social interaction because of being isolated,
affecting their overall well-being and quality of life. The lack of awareness and empathy
among the younger generation makes bad these challenges, leading to a widening
generation gap and a failure to recognize the valuable contributions and wisdom of
senior citizens.
CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM
Lack of awareness:- People might not have been exposed to information or education on the topic.
No initiatives:- Today’s youth is mostly engaged in social media , they don’t have time for themselves , leave
for the other beings.
Increase Population:- People finds hard to fulfil their own needs due to such increase in competition , it is
hard to look on family.
Complacency :- Some individuals might assume that others will take care of welfare issues , or their actions
are smaller to make change in the society.
Lack of empathy:- Not everyone has a strong sense of empathy for old people. They find them useless and
waste of their resources.
STEPS TAKEN TO ACHIEVE OBJECTIVES
Starting from ourselves: I strongly believe welfare starts from home. If I want others to follow a particular
thing , I have to follow that first. I started the initiation of the project , by giving food and engaging with
them in their daily activities.
Spreading awareness: its very important to spread awareness by making them understand their values.
Providing medical facilities: We made their contacts with some local chemist shop so whenever
they’ll be in need of medicines or any treatment for better health care. A regular health check-
up would be done by local healthcare providers.
OBJECTIVES ACHIEVED
CREATING AWARENESS: We aimed towards educating and to raise a focus on elder people for their
good life and understanding people about the challenge they faced from getting neglect, getting
isolated and discrimination from their own family only. By increasing awareness among people will
improve their understanding of the importance of elderly care and support.
BEHAVIORAL CHANGE: It has changed the behaviour of the people , they are also helping them in
resources and also understanding not to make them leave.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: We have tried to engage the community with us. Some of teenagers in
my locality also joined NGO , they also felt there are still some changes that are required in the
society.
DAY 1: We went to HelpAge India
NGO and distributed some foods
(biscuits, fruits and soft drinks)
among them. They felt very
special and blessed me with
their blessings. We had an
amazing conversation where
they were sharing there
experiences and much more. I
told them about challenges they
are facing and what steps they
should take to improve their life
quality.
Day 2: we thought of going outside in
my neighbourhood to spread some
awareness among people and to
learn more about their problems and
to understand their feelings and to
make them know about their rights
and importance. We also distributed
foods like biscuit, buns and fruits, and
sat with them and shared thoughts
and talked about surroundings.
