This document discusses intercultural communication and some of the key factors that influence it. It describes culture as a unique combination of rituals, beliefs, ways of thinking and behaving. It also discusses dominant and non-dominant cultures, and how non-dominant groups use assimilation, accommodation or separation to communicate with dominant groups. Additionally, it outlines some common problems in intercultural communication like ethnocentrism and stereotyping. Finally, it analyzes differences between individualistic vs. collectivistic cultures, uncertainty accepting vs. rejecting cultures, and time orientation between on-time and sometime cultures.
