What does that mean?
What does that mean? Pure mayhem . And lots of porn.
The media - and journalism specifically - have lost direct access to the audience. So what?
That means … There is no central point for information anymore, no universal commonalities among people.
That means … Popular culture is dead (or dying).
That means … Advertisers no longer have a direct conduit to a mass audience.
That means … Media isn’t generating the income they used to, and they can longer afford the staffs they once had .
That means … Finding a job won’t be easy (in any industry). You need to get started now . Drive, hard work and integrity are the keys to success (as Kevin Magee said).

Journalism has always involved two parts: 1. Creation of content . 2. Distribution of content .
The efficiency of the old distribution models (TV, newspapers, radio & mags) has been disrupted by technology.
Without proven efficiency , advertisers go away. Journalism isn’t dead . The old business model of journalism is dying.
How does that affect you, the future journalist?
I don’t know. Nobody does.
Take control. And start now.
