Cloudworks is a virtual fieldtrip and online community for sharing and discussing educational ideas using Web 2.0 tools and principles. It allows users to create "clouds" which are ideas, designs, resources or questions that can be commented on and linked to by other users. Clouds are organized into "cloudscapes" based on topics or groups. The site tracks activity streams and allows users to follow clouds, cloudscapes and other users. It aims to support open collaboration and knowledge sharing in education through social networking features and aggregation of online content. Evaluation shows emerging patterns of use including conference discussions, literature reviews, and resource sharing through the site.
