have to get booze and get to the party.
Stars
• Stars are what draw viewers to see films, if a
certain popular film star is a peoples favourite
then there more chance of them going to see
a film with the star acting in it.
Star Theory
• Star theory is the theory that fans will go to
see certain movies due to who is acting in
them, for example people will go to see the
film The Expendables (2010 – Sylvester
  Stallone).
Storyline
• Storylines are the main reason why film audiences
goes to the cinemas, this is one of the main factors
that draw us to different films.
• Storylines don't always have to play from start to
end, sometimes a film can start at the end and show
what happened to get to this, this is called using a
non linear storyline so a storyline which starts at the
beginning and finishes at the end is a linear storyline.
Special Effects
• Special effects are what keep us not expecting to see
certain things in movies, these are what create
certain characters by using such things as CGI and
animation, these equipment like Green Screens for
this, for example the film Avatar (James Cameron –
2009) this shows remarkable use of CGI and special
  effects
Reception Theory
• Reception Theory support the idea that meanings is
created in the interaction between spectator and
text; in other words, meaning is created as the
viewer watches and processes the film.
• Reception theory argues that contextual factors,
more than textual ones, influence the spectator
views the film or television programme.
What Makes Us Go And See Films
• All of the above factors make us want to go and see films, for
the stars, star theory e.g. Hot Fuzz (2007 – Edgar Wright) stars
people like Simon Pegg, for the buzz around the film and what
its expected to be like, reception theory is used e.g. avatar
(2009 – James Cameron) and for what the actual storyline is
about using films like Rec (2007 – Jaume Balaguero) this didn't
have any stars or much special effects but this did well due to
  the main storyline.
