  Switching software After myfirst draft did not give the desired finish I would have wished I decided it was time to head back to InDesign. The software I had used to make my previous magazines for my AS work. This was due to the feedback I received on my first draft and the fact that the finish as not as quality as I wished it too be.

  The first stageof creating my magazine was to insert the image, in photoshop I added the grain that is seen in my movie poster and made the image slightly lighter so it was more appealing to the eye of a magazine reader.

  The next stagewas to insert a bar code with I did simply by getting one royalty free of the internet and making it into a bit map so it could be put onto my magazine front cover.

  I then usedthe type tool and rectangle tool to create the main title of the magazine. This was done in the Bradley Hand Font and the rectangle is red. These then were moved to the right side of the magazine. While it may be the convention to have titles on the left side I felt for the image here this would not work and purposefully went against the convention.

  Using the texttool I wrote in the articles of the magazine, these were in varying fonts and I changed the colour to white so that they would contrast to the dark background of my central image.

  I decided todo the article list in a bullet point form which can be seen here. To create the bullet points I simply used the ellipse tool and inserted them onto the magazine front cover.

  At first Ithought of making the text white for ‘Live’ however when I looked back at my research I realised that all the text was the same colour on almost every movie magazine. For this reason I decided instead of making it black I would use a drop shadow. This was done using the effects tool and then giving the text a ‘drop shadow’.

  Using the typetool and the Bradley hand font I inserted the subtext: ‘exclusive movie insight’ beneath the masthead, in this way I hoped to assert the genre more clearly.
