 Crime films are films that focus on the lives of criminals. The stylistic approach to a crime 
film varies from realistic portrayals of real-life criminal figures, to the far-fetched evil doings of 
imaginary arch-villains, which are overcome by heroes or superheroes and even the local hero. 
Crime Genre Conventions 
Crime settings: When you know something bad is going to happen just because how the area looks 
like such as drugs everyone or gangs at the end of the road. 
A morally upright, intelligent, and isolated protagonist who often has a personal interest in the case. 
A crime (usually a murder with other crimes being committed either because of or as the cause of 
the murder) such as killing your best friend or someone who made you angry.

Crime comedies: Are usually a mix between crimes, comedy. How they will put the best comedy 
parts and the best crime parts. 
Crime thrillers: Is about how the main character is mainly involved with the action and drama of the 
film and how he can get over it. 
Film noir: Is mainly about crime mystery and how it only got famous between the 1940 and the 
1960s. 
Heist film :Is about a group which are trying to rob a bank or trying to kidnap someone or 
something which they will sell it back to the owner of the thing or person . 
Hood crime: are mainly about gang’s problems and how they get over it and how sometimes people 
die in their lives. 
Mafia film :are mainly abort how certain white people are involve the in killing game / street 
warfare.
