1.1 Abstract:
“The Goethe-Institut Dhaka” fosters knowledge about Germany by providing information on German culture,
society and politics. Goethe cultural societies, reading rooms, and exam and language centers have played a role
in the cultural and educational policies of Germany for more than 60 years. Every year a lot of students admitted
here to learn German language and this includes the exchange of films, music, theatre, and literature.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic online courses are now the only and popular medium to take admission in this
institute. However, all this happing because of networking. In this Project I tried to simulate “The Goethe-Institut
Dhaka” networking design. I also calculated the total cost of the devices which gives us the estimated price of the
total cost. Other than that Laptop Assemble and Disassemble gave me the total idea of hardware parts of a Laptop
and problems that can occur due to any hardware failure.

1.2 Introduction:
In every Company, Organization, Institute or other sector of Industry, networking immensely significant and
popular topic. And every CSE student must have to learn networking concepts and logical designing of real-life
scenarios. There is a popular software called “Cisco Packet Tracer” which is helping the vast majority of folk to
simulate and configure different types of network design also networking devices. In my project, “Goethe-Institut
Bangladesh Network Design”, I used packet tracer to design the entire network. Throughout the journey of my
work, I had to use and configure different network devices like server, Switch etc. And I had to bear in mind
about IP classes and IP configuration, topologies and protocols are also included. I had worked with the different
servers like Mail Server, Web Server, DNS and FTP Server.
1.3 Key Features:

1. Each floor has different network.
2. IOT devices and some PC’s are connected via wireless network.
3. We can extend our connection anytime.
4. Troubleshooting will be so much easier and so will fixing.
5. With IOT doors there’s “Card Punching Technology” that can take automatic attendance.
6. If any network lost its connectivity then others will work properly.
7. Home devices can be controlled remotely.
8. To get alarm during any danger I used automatic detection technologies in some devices.
9. This network is designed as sharing purpose so that resource and money can be saved.
10. Different types of Servers are used for different purposes.

1.7 Network Protocols:
DNS (Domain Name System)
On the ground floor of the building is the server room that contains the DNS server. That network and domain
are connected. They are all present on every host (workstation). Then, we can connect to our host using its specific
domain name. It can be done remotely. Computers, however, do not understand the name. To convert it into
numbers, you'll need to the IP address. So, DNS servers maintain the mapping of domains of each host to their IP
addresses. IP address of the corresponding computer. So, network complexity and management are reduced.
FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
The ground floor server room also has an FTP server installed. This is used to transfer files between computers.
A network's insides. Uploading the files needed for sharing is done on the FTP server. A special FTP client can
be used to link clients to the shared files. This is the main point. The FTP server can be used to transfer data within
a network for several reasons, including the ability to access. Transfers multiple files, including multiple formats,
efficiently. The ability to transfer files between multiple directories at once.
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)
SMTP Mail server is placed in the ground floor server room. SMTP servers are more reliable when sending mails
to clients. They deliver mail to recipients quickly, they offer reliability in sending email messages (SMTP server
will always try to re-send the same email.
Security Requirements
A firewall used so unauthorized user will be restricted. Part of the security is user accounts and passwords that
has limited access. There is different access capabilities for network managers and users.

1.8 Assemble and Disassemble:

1.9 Visiting Geothe:
13
1.10 Advantages:
o Data can be accessed from the server to any computer.
o Used Bus, Star topologies.
o Hybrid network combines the benefits of different types of topologies.
o Can be modified as per requirement.
o It is extremely flexible.
o It is easily scalable.
1.11 Disadvantages:
o Didn’t connected any smart phone.
o Didn’t used smart windows.
o If Switch or Router fails then whole system will crush.
o Number of cables is high, etc.
1.12 Conclusion:
This Project taught me about networking basic concepts, like router configuration, ASA configuration, about IP,
Subnet, Subnet Mask, and Cabling and so on. However, the learning is not just stopped on networking it helps
me to build the skills of floor planning, management and Technical skills.

  • 10. 10 1.7 Network Protocols: DNS (Domain Name System) On the ground floor of the building is the server room that contains the DNS server. That network and domain are connected. They are all present on every host (workstation). Then, we can connect to our host using its specific domain name. It can be done remotely. Computers, however, do not understand the name. To convert it into numbers, you'll need to the IP address. So, DNS servers maintain the mapping of domains of each host to their IP addresses. IP address of the corresponding computer. So, network complexity and management are reduced. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) The ground floor server room also has an FTP server installed. This is used to transfer files between computers. A network's insides. Uploading the files needed for sharing is done on the FTP server. A special FTP client can be used to link clients to the shared files. This is the main point. The FTP server can be used to transfer data within a network for several reasons, including the ability to access. Transfers multiple files, including multiple formats, efficiently. The ability to transfer files between multiple directories at once. SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) SMTP Mail server is placed in the ground floor server room. SMTP servers are more reliable when sending mails to clients. They deliver mail to recipients quickly, they offer reliability in sending email messages (SMTP server will always try to re-send the same email. Security Requirements A firewall used so unauthorized user will be restricted. Part of the security is user accounts and passwords that has limited access. There is different access capabilities for network managers and users.
  • 11. 11 1.8 Assemble and Disassemble:
  • 13. 13 1.10 Advantages: o Data can be accessed from the server to any computer. o Used Bus, Star topologies. o Hybrid network combines the benefits of different types of topologies. o Can be modified as per requirement. o It is extremely flexible. o It is easily scalable. 1.11 Disadvantages: o Didn’t connected any smart phone. o Didn’t used smart windows. o If Switch or Router fails then whole system will crush. o Number of cables is high, etc. 1.12 Conclusion: This Project taught me about networking basic concepts, like router configuration, ASA configuration, about IP, Subnet, Subnet Mask, and Cabling and so on. However, the learning is not just stopped on networking it helps me to build the skills of floor planning, management and Technical skills. 1.13 References: https://www.startech.com.bd https://www.ryanscomputers.com/category/desktop-pc--server-server https://www.daraz.com.bd/products/utp-cat-6-brb-305-meter-cable-i132002384.html https://brbcable.com 1.14 Slideshare Link: https://www.slideshare.net/Maksudujjaman
