This document summarizes a research paper that presents a digital speed control system for a permanent magnet brushless DC motor using a TMS320LF2407 digital signal processor (DSP) controller. The paper describes modeling the brushless DC motor in MATLAB/Simulink using classical modeling equations. A digital PI controller is implemented in the simulation for closed-loop speed control.
