The project is based in a factory
community in India that is already
                        addressing issues around sustainable
                        production of textiles, particularly with
                        wastewater and pollution. The research
explored new ideas for around printing
                        and embroidery for interior fabrics.

WALL is a design project between partners in India and the UK
which aims to develop local traditional textile craft skills. Using
new digital print design techniques and technologies, and
experimenting with a range of new ‘eco’ base fabrics with the
                        factory can make innovation happen.

The researchers worked with the employees to explore sustainable design, printing and stitching
concepts, and then acted as an agent to move the product up market, pitching it to the high end
New York interiors market as embellished fabric wallpapers.
