To Whom It May Concern,
It is my pleasure to write this letter in support of Ms. Erica Cleveland. I have known Ms. Cleveland
for the past six years through my association with the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
Ms. Cleveland was responsible for the oversight of the Maintenance of Certification program at the
American Board of Neurological Surgery since 2005. Neurosurgery was a late adopter in the
recertification process, but has quickly become a leader in this area. Erica was central to our mission
of educating our Diplomates of the need for, and process of recertification. As with any new
program, there are many bumps in the road that require a gentle, but firm hand when it comes down
to administration at the personal level. Erica excelled in the role. She helped in providing written
material, on-line instructions, and “town-hall” meetings. She was a master with details and logistics,
all the while providing superb customer service, and needless to say, neurosurgeons can be
demanding customers!
Erica is a very talented woman, as evidenced by her avocation of music, where she has been a
vocalist/guitarist for several area bands. She manages to balance her responsibilities to her husband
and children, work, and musical career all with dedication, enthusiasm, and equanimity.
I provide this letter with my highest level of support, and believe Erica will be a valuable asset to
anyone fortunate enough to attract her.
Sincerely,
Warren R. Selman, M.D.
