  INT. HALLWAY –NIGHT TRACKING SHOT Camera tracking through a dark hallway with lights flickering comes upon the title and openings scratched into a silver metal door. Indelible. INT. SURGERY ROOM – NIGHT HANDHELD SHOT Lights flickering, eerie silence BIRDS EYE PANNING SHOT Pans over numerous tools, covered in dry blood. Diegetic footsteps and ambient sound of tools clanging against metal surfaces. BIRDS EYE SHOT Large pair of hands appears in the frame, wearing a pair of white gloves, cleaning a scalpel (articulately), they then drop the scalpel INT.ORPHANAGE - DAY MERGE/GRAPHIC MATCH Social worker picks up a pen from the table CLOSE-UP SHOT Madeline’s legs swinging on a chair as she fidgets and plays with her hands. Diegetic, ambient sound of muffled speech in the background. SOCIAL WORKER (Quietly) She’s been through a lot PANNING SHOT Slowly pans up to Madeline’s face, she’s expressionless, she then stands up. MID-FOUR SHOT SOCIAL WORKER (Enthusiastically) I’m sure you’ll love your new home Madeline MUM (Happily) Yeah honey your bedrooms all set, come on you’ll love it CLOSE-UP SHOT The mum squeezes Madeline’s shoulder as they start to walk. ZOOM Camera zooms into Madeline’s expressionless face SOCIAL WORKER (Quietly in the background) Bye Madeline FADE ESTABLISHING SHOT

  EXT. HOUSE –DAY MUM (Excited, soft tone) This is your new room SOUNDBRIDGE CUT TO INT. MADELINES ROOM. AFTERNOON MUM "This is your new room" (Looks at MADELINE and smiles comfortingly) CLOSE-UP MUM and DAD show MADELINE into her new room, they stand behind her as she looks into the small, girly room presented in front of her. DAD "Why don't you get settled while we prepare lunch" (He places his hands on MADELINES shoulders and squeezes it softly) WIDE SHOT MUM and DAD both smile at her and slowly walk out of the frame. TRACKS MADELINE walks into the room and begins to look around. LONG SHOT SHE turns the lights on and off twice. CLOSE UP MADELINE looks at some items on her dresser, she picks some up starting at them curiously. She turns them around, as though she's inspecting them. PAN TO Some of these items

  CUT TO MADELINE flicksthrough a book CUT TO A LONG SHOT MADELINE slowly sits on the floor, she struggles to fold her legs as she looks up at some unpacked boxes in front of her. WIDE SHOT SHE begins to pick some items out, then suddenly stops. She stares Intensely into the box, then slowly brings out a ragged doll. CUTS TO CLOSE-UP of tattered doll. CUTS TO MADELINE closes her eyes tightly QUICK CUT MADELINES POV FLASHBACK MADELINE is breathing heavily as the ambient sound of metal clanging echoes. QUICK CUT BACK TO PRESENT DAY

  MADELINE is sittingin her room. She opens her eyes, startled. Her eyes grow wider as she breathes heavily. QUICK CUT FLASHBACK CLOSE-UP MADELINES hands are being held down against a surgery table TILTS UPWARDS SHE tightly clutches onto the doll PANS TO HER hands shaking violently FLASHBACK CLOSE-UP MADELINES feet are being tied down as she reluctantly shakes her legs, trying to escape the bonds. The diegetic, muffled screams of MADELINE echo in the room. INSERT NUZHAT INT. DINING ROOM – DAY Madeline sitting at the dining table while her mums serving her tea. MID-SHOT MADELINE: Wrly: (Smiles) MOM: Dialogue: It’s okay love

  MOM: Dialogue: You’re dadscaught up in work and won’t be able to join us for dinner so it’ll just be us tonight MADELINE: Wrly: (Nods) MOM: Wrly: (Sighs) Dialogue: Darling, I have some big news to tell you… you’re going to be a big sister! Wrly: (Hands together smiling) OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT FROM MUM MADELINE: Wrly: (Stops what she’s doing, eyes wide and shocked) MOM: Dialogue: It’ll be great! You can finally have someone to play with you and your doll! You won’t be lonely anymore MADELINE POV MADELINE: Wrly: (sighs and looks at her doll quickly) INT. STAIRS – DAY CUTS TO: MADELINE WALKING UP THE STAIRS DUTCH ANGLE SHOT TRACKS TILTS TO CLOSE-UP TO THE DOLL Madeline walks up the stairs dragging her doll from her hand with her INT. MADELINES BEDROOM - DAY CUTS TO: WIDE SHOT OF MADELINE Madeline walks in closing the door, then rummaging through her draw brining out a pen and paper CLOSE-UP OF CAMERA CIRCLING HER We can see what she beings to write on the paper, only a few words MADELINE: Wrly: (smiles) INT. CHILDS ROOM - DAY CUTS TO HER ENETERING NEW CHILDS ROOM OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT Madeline places the doll along with the note on the child’s new bed CUT TO: SIDE VIEW OF MADELINE MADELINE: Wrly: (Smiles) ZOOM IN NOTE Reveals the words “” on the note
