This document summarizes a graduate project to implement a real-time parametric equalizer using fixed point C and improve it using assembly language intrinsics. The objectives were to control the amplitude and frequency of an audio signal using shelf and peak filters in a parametric equalizer and reduce execution time by using assembly intrinsics. The project involved designing a parametric equalizer that allows control over amplitude and frequency and measuring a reduction in execution cycles when using intrinsics compared to just C.
