- The study examined the effects of Raj Yoga meditation on cognitive and affective functions. Sixty-four participants who practiced Raj Yoga for varying durations were separated into two groups - beginners practicing for less than two years and practitioners for over ten years.
- Results showed that practitioners had significantly lower neurotic symptoms, higher hope, and greater happiness than beginners. Practitioners also performed better on tests of attention, memory, and visual processing compared to beginners.
- The findings suggest that longer duration of Raj Yoga practice is associated with improvements in cognitive functions and greater psychological well-being through reduced neuroticism and increased hope and happiness.
