Emory University is a private research university located in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in 1836 in Oxford, Georgia and moved to Atlanta in 1914. In 1979, the university received a $105 million endowment from the Coca-Cola Company, which boosted it into the top ranks of research universities. Emory has a main campus in Atlanta and a separate liberal arts college, Oxford College, located in Oxford. It is ranked highly by U.S. News & World Report and Times Higher Education for its academics and research.
