at BP. This GWO I believe it is separate independent technical pillar of BP Which is formed with intention
of safe, compliant and reliable well deliveries.
To talk more about BP, In my point of view looking at BP is of one of leading organizations nowadays it is
known for its commitment toward green energy and moving towards to meet its ultimate goal achieving
Engineering interview answering Oct 2018
How well do you work in a team? Describe a time when you put the needs of the team first and
demonstrated flexibility in the workplace.
Define Teamwork: When we talk about teamwork, If we can not forget that we have not borne in this
world alone and we have been borne from parents, we are residing in societies or surrounded by public.
If I think I can do any activity by myself by my own with zero external human support / aid / resource,
then it never happen. So any task which is completed it involves shares from our companion (it can be
wife, mother father, relatives, friend or collogues) so being respectful to our companion or companions
is worth mentioning about teamwork. Success behind any mission is not from any single efforts, it is
always from collaborative effort.
Philosophical example: I would like to present two examples to talk about my understanding on
teamwork, one scientific and the other may be philosophical, During our academic years, when we learn
about theory of magnetism, which mentions that magnetization vectors of all domains when get align
perfectly in one direction, then a strong magnet is generated / produced. Similarly, if we consider
ourselves as components / constituents of organization working in one domain and if we try to align our
personal objectives with company's goals, then definitely we expect for strong /robust outcome. And
other side philosophical example would like to present is one moral tale, that is bundle of sticks, which is
usually often shared with our children. So, in our everyday experiences, teamwork shows both principles
“bundle of sticks” and “ theory of magnetism.
Examples: To talk about my personal experiences about teamwork involvement, There are variety of
examples. one of which occurred during start of IPM project, and it was beginning year. We had
commitment to deliver total 240 wells in one year, which was last year. We faced a massive shortage in
manpower on site execution and also on logistic side, also in on senior level positions particularly with
the drilling superintendent position & logistic manager. I decided to take initiative to support in addition
to my existing responsibilities, I performed role of superintendent & logistics coordinator & existed role
together for almost six months, which was exhaustive for me but ultimately, happiness come when we
saw that we achieved well delivery targets committed for that year . There are other many instances, in
which I extended my support in complex situation and helped team to come out from bottlenecks by
giving them innovative solutions. For example, In our one of fiber optic campaign, One of renowned
vendor (I don’t want to disclose name) who decided to stop supplying critical element & spares, then
fiber optic team lost all hopes to complete wells for perforation orientation, I have supported them &
introduced innovative concept of oriented perforation using Gyro technology, This idea generated in
mind while relating to existed proven industrial practice of whip-stock orientation. This concept was
implemented on successful trails, and now as a result we are independent from that third party supply
we developed our own inhouse technology and successfully completed 90% of the oriented perforation
jobs by our own, and company is now preparing to launch this concept commercially.

Tell me about a time when you went above and beyond to achieve a goal?
In my understanding about term "Going Beyond" or "above" refers to situations where someone take an initiative
to put extra effort or uses innovative and unconventional methods to delver desired objectives.
We can relate two aspects : “Optimization to increase profit margins” and on other hand is “to maintain
sustainability in routine performance to ensure consistent Cashflows”,
Everywhere we come across to some negative circumstances where it is difficult to maintain sustainability in
routine performance, for e.g. shortfall in resources, it can be manpower or interdependent product supplies.
I would like to share some of the past positive and negative circumstance which I come across. As a part of
optimization, we always struggle for improvisation in existed methodologies and well designs, e.g. deepening
casing seats in order to remove problematic formations from reservoir section, Implementation of EM technology
replacing pulse telemetry to reduce connection time, implementation of MPD to drill reservoir section incase
nearby water injectors are kept running, this will help in reduction of production deferment from nearby oil
producers, reducing length of kill string usages, displacing well with completion brine after cementation. In total,
as resultant from such small initiatives our well delivery time is getting decreased.
Taking about negative circumstances where I shown my leadership skills, As per my understanding leadership
means taking initiative, responsibility and accountability. During time of our IPM project start up, company had
zero infrastructure for well engineering or planning design, not having inhouse well engineering software’s or
any SOPs. So in simple word to saywe were in crisis. Company do not willing to pay in extra for getting external
resources, it was big challenge for me and I decided to take ownership & carefully crafted well engineering
infrastructure by own. I developed in-house applications for well planning tools, which include a comprehensive
package of 11 distinct well designs. Such type of in-house application creations has eliminated dependency on
external software purchases, and gave us cost saving
Also, would like to share other examples, while working with PDO, received total nine recognitions for significant
of savings across various projects, To take example of Azauz. In Anzuz field, wells use to get deliver in 25 – 30
days then I took personal interest to dig out more to know the facts and performed historical study and come
Engineering interview answering Oct 2018
Why do you want to work in the energy industry?
If we go and define Energy means ability to do work or work done or Thing which become cause for
generating power through energy transformation from one form to other form.
The term “Energy sector” is coming from collective range of industries which involved in production and sale
of energy or power, E.g: fuel extraction, manufacturing, refining, and distribution activities.
We as a human are running behind to live comfort way of life and goal is to get fulfill all needs, these are
being tried to achieve through energy transformation. In ancient days before fire utilization inventions
people us to get light from Sun in daytime but after industrial revolution they start utilizing heat from fire to
cook food and illuminating or lighting premises by utilizing flame. Then recently electrical innovation
brought major revolution in Human society
Moving towards comfortable lifestyle is main driving factor for industrial revolution, In our daily routine, we
are surrounded by different energy conversions or energy transformations and continuously efforts for
innovations are taking place in this energy field (that we can say research & development).
Now if we talk about energy forms then there are various form of energies- Chemical energy, Mechanical
Energy, Thermal energy, Nuclear energy, Solar energy. Tidal Energy. And out of these several energy
conversions are fundamental to our routine life.
E.g. Presently, electricity is primarily generated through Hydroelectric Dams, which convert gravitational
(potential) energy into kinetic energy and then utilizing large turbines converts kinetic to electrical energy,.
This hydro technology is > 100 years old.
Although conventional energy resources are essential but need to consider their side effects such as
emission of toxic gases, heat and increasing global worming. Hence whenever we talk about energy
conversion then two factors comes Infront which are Enthalpy and Entropy.
A famous scientist Eddington from recent century thought or introduced us about concept of entropy He
motioned that nature of entropy of world or galaxy is having increasing trend which means after certain
years / period - global warming will reach to it’s peak and go beyond tolerable limit, means we are moving
towards slow poisoning effect. But that disaster event can be delayed rather than to happen it early by
reducing increasing rate of entropy.
Conventional energy transformations are irreversible or “unrecoverable” energy. Apart from conventional
sources we should look for option of different renewable energy sources Solar energy, wind power,
bioenergy and hydroelectric including tidal energy.
If we talk about the extents of different channels for electric supply globally. Then we can see 36% share is
coming from coal and 23% from Gas, And from different forms which are solar & other renewable is just 4
%.
We know solar power is unlimited energy source do not have harmful side effects or greenhouse gas
emissions. The carbon footprint of solar panels is already quite small and can help in reduce increasing rate
of entropies. Since over last decade, some strong industrials players like BP, Shell shown their social
accountabilities, And in public interest, spreaded awareness about generation & use of renewable energy as
alternate solution. They are not only teaching us philosophies but also proving them practical feasibility with
implementations. There is substantial growth can be since renewable power generation technology from
last recent decades, especially last 10 years we can see increasing solar pannel installation requirement in
commercial and house propose. Very soon one day will come when renewable resources will replace all
