The paper presents an Intelligent Traffic Congestion Mitigation System (ITCMS) utilizing fog computing to address traffic congestion in densely populated smart cities, specifically tested in Cairo. The findings demonstrate that the ITCMS significantly outperforms existing models in terms of accuracy, lower latency, and improved traffic efficiency. The system's performance was evaluated based on parameters such as CPU usage, throughput, and total average delay, showcasing its potential to enhance urban traffic management effectively.
