The document presents the enhancement of routing performance in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) through a proposed algorithm called improved-data routing for in-network aggregation (i-drina). This algorithm aims to improve energy efficiency and reduce broadcasting delay during critical event monitoring by optimizing data aggregation at intermediate nodes. Simulation results demonstrate that i-drina outperforms existing protocols, such as data routing in network aggregation (drina) and low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (leach), across various performance metrics.
