 Rapid technological, environmental, social, and workplace
changes require innovative responses towards workplace skills
and business development.
 In this context, transformative entrepreneurial skills and
competencies are not only important for entrepreneurs in the
classical sense, but also increasingly sought after by employers.
 These include problem-solving, initiative, teamwork, creativity,
emotional intelligence and other soft skills.
 TVET institutions are expected to emphasize the teaching of
entrepreneurial skills and mindsets to prepare modern
employees and potential future entrepreneurs.
Challenges

 A main challenge for embedding entrepreneurial learning
in TVET is the development of curricula that provide
students with real-life, active learning experiences to
acquire entrepreneurial skills.
 Subsequently, effective implementation of entrepreneurial
learning requires providing support to teachers and
trainers, who act as catalysts of change within TVET
systems.
 Finally, rethinking traditional pedagogical approaches and
practices is needed to make teaching and learning
entrepreneurship practical and relevant to real life.

 The BILT Project provides TVET institutions with a platform
to discuss the implementation of entrepreneurial learning
to make TVET more innovative and attractive to students,
teachers, trainers, and potential employers.
 Partnerships and close collaboration between TVET
stakeholders can help bring these positive changes.
 For instance, cooperation between businesses and TVET
institutions provides increased opportunities for upskilling
and in-company practical experience for teachers.

 Using an ecosystem approach supports
mainstreaming of entrepreneurial learning in order to
make it available to every student at every level of
education.
 UNESCO-UNEVOC's entrepreneurial learning
ecosystem below demonstrates several areas of
action, including policy-level strategies, curricula,
support for pre-service and in-service teachers, non-
formal learning, and support for start-ups.

This programme responds to an
increasing need for modern
methods to teach
entrepreneurship to TVET
students. It offers entrepreneurial
challenges in different fields,
which can be combined in
multiple ways and implemented
at all levels of TVET.

Resources
To address the increasing importance of
entrepreneurial competencies in the
world of work, Foundation Innove has
developed new teaching methodologies
and training content for
entrepreneurship education for TVET.
The result is the creation of
entrepreneurship modules for all levels
of TVET, together with a digital
entrepreneurship textbook.

Resources
This guide has been designed primarily to
support TVET teachers and managers and
leaders, but also company trainers, young
and adult trainees, curriculum developers
and decision makers. It has three parts:
1. An introduction to entrepreneurial
learning and the basic concepts.
2. A self-assessment tool for TVET
institutions to understand where they
stand in terms of integrating
entrepreneurial learning.
3. A guide to integrating entrepreneurial
learning into TVET institutions using the
Entrepreneurial Learning Institution
Canvas (ELIC). ELIC is a conceptual tool
for strengthening entrepreneurial
learning at the institutional level.
