What is ERP?
ERP stands for enterprise resource planning.
It refers to a suite of software that organizations
use to manage day-to-day business activities, such
as accounting, procurement, project management,
risk management and compliance, and supply
chain operations.
A complete ERP suite also includes enterprise
performance management, software that helps to
plan, budget, predict, and report on an
organization's financial results.
Education ERP market size is estimated to be
valued around USD 15 billion by 2024, growing at
a CAGR of around 15% from 2016 to 2024.
A key ERP principle is the central collection
of data for wide distribution.
Instead of several standalone databases with
an endless inventory of disconnected
spreadsheets, ERP systems bring order to
the chaos so that all users from the CEO to
accounts payable clerks-create, store, and use
the same data derived through common
processes.
With a secure and centralized data
repository, everyone in the organization can
be confident that data is correct, up to date,
and complete.

MANUAL PROCESSES
Many educational institutions still rely heavily
on manual processes for tasks such as student
registration, attendance tracking, and grade
reporting.
This can lead to errors, inefficiencies, and
delays in decision-making.
DATA MANAGEMENYT
Educational institutions often struggle with
managing large amounts of data related to
students, faculty, and staff.
This can result in data inaccuracies, security
breaches, and difficulty in accessing and
analyzing data for decision-making purposes.
Current challenges in Education
What is the role played by an
ERP in Education Institutions?
• Integrate every school functions.
• Facilitate the information flow within an educational
institution.
• Track every institutional activity Improving and
organizing the portfolio of teachers, students, and staff
.• Simplifying the process of student management.
• Maintaining good relationships with both parents and
stakeholders.
•Organizing and streamlining every school
communication.
1. Centralization and management of information (gathering, storing, analyzing)
2. Simplifies the process of data gathering (offers freedom to staff, faculty etc to upload information
online)
3. Improved resource management (highly efficient in tracking the inventory & resource usage)
The most significant function of ERP
INCREASED EFFICIENCY
ANDAUTOMATION
ERP systems have the potential to automate
many administrative tasks in educational
institutions.
This can save time and money, allowing
educators to focus on teaching and learning.
IMPROVED DATA MANAGEMENT
ERP systems can provide a centralized
platform for managing student data, academic
records, and financial information.
This can improve data accuracy, accessibility,
and security.
Future of ERP in education
Case study
University of California, Los Angeles
(UCLA)
UCLA implemented an ERP system to streamline their
administrative processes and improve data management.
The system allowed for better communication between
departments and increased efficiency in tasks such as
student enrollment and financial aid disbursement.
University of Phoenix
The University of Phoenix implemented an ERP system to
centralize their student data and improve their
communication with students. The system allowed for real-
time access to student information, making it easier for
advisors to provide personalized support to each student.
• ERP systems have the potential to revolutionize the education industry by providing a comprehensive
solution to the current challenges faced by educational institutions. By streamlining administrative
processes and providing real-time data insights, ERP systems can improve efficiency, reduce costs, and
enhance the overall learning experience for students.
