The 40th Annual ESRI User Conference 2020 was held virtually, with over 86,000 attendees from 180 countries, highlighting the theme 'interconnecting our world'. Numerous awards were announced, including recognition for young scholars and innovations in GIS applications, along with significant updates to ESRI products such as ArcGIS, including enhanced mobile apps and new capabilities for data analysis and visualization. Additional focuses included improved demographic forecasts and collaboration with the United Nations on sustainable development goals.

You set the area as offline areas in AGOL and they can be used offline out in the field • You can also create offline areas in Explorer! • Set schedule updates to keep offline areas up to date • They only push out CHANGES so more efficient and less data • Set refresh intervals, up to every 6 seconds and provides near real-time updates • Viewing tracks with Tracker, so you can see your tracks in ArcGIS Explorer….see that they’ve completed the circle! • Improved app linking • Sideload base maps • Load mobile map packages through SD cards • PKI authentication • Streamlined portal sign in • Get directions

- 26. 26 Survey 123 • Survey123Connect: − New XLSForm syntax – hidden appearance – hides a Geopoint question so that you don’t have to show them − Esri visible column, dynamically hides a question while preserving its value − New XLSForm syntax – mode and status – mode describes if a record is in edit mode or not and status says whether it is draft submitted, sent, inbox or collect • Survey123 Reports: − Price change, from 2.5 credits per report to 0.5 credits − Expanded report template syntax with summary sections (to produce summary report) and statistics • Workflow automation: − You can now integrate Survey123 with apps and services other people in the organisation use like Office 365, Google Cloud, LinkedIn, MailChimp and more − What’s new is the inclusion of all fields in payload on edit events and inclusion of repeat data in webhook payload − New Survey123 web app JavaScript API − As a developer you can interact, work and test web apps or embed forms in your own web apps − Note that Esri Field Maps was announced during UC Day 1, that will eventually encompass many of the functions of Collector and Survey123

The release includes new demographic data as well as an Esri-released report on the US labor force by age, and location quotients by industry and occupation; Esri Tapestry Segmentation data; and Consumer Spending, Market Potential, Business Summary, and Traffic Counts data
- 28. 28 ArcGIS Notebooks Esri’s spatiallyoptimized Jupyter experience, is now available across the ArcGIS platform, in ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro. Users can leverage the built-in ArcGIS Python libraries (ArcGIS API for Python and ArcPy) to automate repetitive administrative tasks in their Web GIS, such as content and user management. Users can also combine the ArcGIS Python libraries with hundreds of open-source Python packages for data engineering, analytical, and spatial data science workflows. Model training and inferencing can be done effectively by using built-in tools with machine learning and deep learning frameworks. ArcGIS Notebooks also helps reduce time spent managing dependencies across data science ecosystems and enables cross-team collaboration and transparency. - 30. 30 Sustainable Development Goals • Esri formeda consortium with the United Nations with a mind to creating and sharing new digital experiences • The collaboration is formed of the United Nations, The International Geodesign Collaboration, Carl Steiner (friend of Jacks), Microsoft, and National Geographic Society (Dr Vicki Phillips, Executive Vice President and Chief Education Officer, National Geographic Society) • The core of all this is the Living atlas and the “Indicators of the planet” which has a dashboard of dashboards with GeoCards around indicators. • Indicators of the Planet draws upon authoritative sources for the latest updates on 18 topics, with more being developed. These are Experience builder templates which encompass a wealth of information within them. - 31. 31 New products, tools,and capabilities announced this year ArcGIS Indoors has a: • new deployment option • new Space Planner app template • number of key enhancements for ArcGIS Indoors mobile and ArcGIS Indoors in ArcGIS Pro. • Facility mapping is a significant requirement for many organizations responding to the challenges posed by COVID-19. • The new ArcGIS Online deployment option will help users get up and running faster, and improvements to ArcGIS Indoors in ArcGIS Pro will simplify data curation. • Space Planner allows organizations to define where teams work and then allocate space either to specific staff or for hoteling. • Workspace reservation and office hoteling functionalities have been added to ArcGIS Indoors mobile apps (available for Android and iOS) and are integrated with Microsoft 365. 31

- 34. 34 New products, tools, andcapabilities announced this year • Esri Redistricting—This web-based application enables governments, advocates, and the public to create and collaborate on revised legislative and congressional plans following the 2020 Census. • The 2020 update of Esri Redistricting includes improvements such as the ability to create plans based on imported shapefiles and to display detailed demographics information across multiple plans at the district level. • Improved integration with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise enables greater collaboration and transparency between government and the public. • Users also now have the ability to search for a place or county name; change the appearance of thematic maps by adding one or two demographic labels; and include the current map extent, themes, and layers as part of the plans. 34
