How did you use digital
  technology in your
   production work?
Final Cut Pro
• When I filmed my short movie I used the software called final cut pro
which is an editing site. After filming scenes of the movie I plugged the
cannon filming camera into the computer and downloaded all the clips
onto the software this was log and transfer, we could then watch the clips
back and decide what worked and what didn’t then cut and place things
into the timeline to make the film flow.
• We also decided to edit the film colour and turn the clips into black and
white to give the film a haunting look and some of the transitions that we
edited in turned certain scenes blood red.
• In final cut pro we could also put in sound effects which made the film
better and also we could add in music from garageband which we created
and layered them on top of the clips.
Garageband
• Whilst in the filming process we used Garageband which was a very useful
software to use. The reason we used garageband was because it was easy
and simple to use and we were able to record a music soundtrack to the
movie as well as using sound effects like phone calls, and the sound of a
clock, we also used it for voice overs.
• For the film we needed to create a tense atmosphere and we were able to
do so by using this programme.
• Garageband also let us turn up the volume and turn it down on voice clips.
Photoshop/InDesign
• Photoshop was used a lot in the process of creating a poster for the film
that we made. Photoshop let me upload images that I have taken with the
cannon camera and upload them onto the programme and allowed me to
edit the images the way I wanted them to look, and also let me change the
brightness and contrast of the image to create a more sinister look for the
image to go with the genre of the film. It also let me cut out backgrounds
from the image with the magic background eraser. Photoshop also
allowed me to create and experiment with different texts and styles.
Photoshop allowed me to create a professional looking movie poster.
• Another programme I used to create my double page spread interview
was InDesign, this allowed me to use columns and margins to be able to
make the article more professional, it also allowed me to do the same as
Photoshop in the sense of editing images.
Web 2.0
• Over the course of this project I have used many web 2.0 sites such as Blogger
which was the main one as I uploaded all my work for the project onto this site.
Blogger is very useful because it doesn’t have a post limit and it also looks good to
    present work.
• Another website I used was Prezi which is a programme which I can use to display
my work in a more interesting way than just a word document, this again is the
same as Glogster, which I can add images, text and video clips.
• Before creating a film I used a programme called Go Animate which is a site to
create a film using cartoon characters so you can see how it is going to look when
shooting the film, however we created a go animate for the old movie idea.
• Slideshare was another useful programme that I used a lot over the project, this
allowed me to create power points then present them in a slide to upload onto my
    blog.
• Other websites such as Google was also very useful during the project and helped
with research ideas like looking at typical conventional movie posters and double
page spreads, also with images that I used to make glogs and other power points.
Cannon Camera
• To shoot our film we used a cannon filming camera, this was so that we
could shoot our film and make it look professional as it was a high
definition camera. By using this type of camera we were able to use focus
and also zoom in and out to get better close-ups. We could also take
pictures on the camera which we used in a scene of our film so that came
in use, we also used a tripod to make sure the shots didn’t shake and
make the film look messy and unprofessional. By using this type of camera
it was easy to carry around as it was small and we were able to watch clips
back to see if they worked.
